Just thought of few others. The amazing "Battle beyond the Stars" and "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone". What classics.

I've read this differently to most people so (this list is not exhaustive):

Any soap ;
Any talent show ;
Anything with Piers Morgan in;
Any awards show.

If these are on its makes me go and play ED ( if only for my sanity)

Dark Matter, by far and large is the most "Elite" like sci-fi I've seen.
If you don't know it, you need to, and if you do know it, you know what I'm talking about.

And the Raza looks like it would be right at home here - something of a cross between a streched Keelback and a Federal Gunship.

It can, and does, launch a fighter.. well, I think they call it a shuttle, but it is armed...

Good thread this.

Just binged on The Expanse, very good series, looking forward to season 2.
Dark Matter...hmmm, drowning in tropes and trudging through its storyline in earnest; not enjoying this one but will persevere...puts me in mind of E.D! :D

Just started Killjoys, not too shabby so far.

Firefly, Lexx, Farscape, Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, and both of the Cosmos mini series. Plus almost all cheesy 70s Flash Gordon/Barberella psychedelic weirdness. Lets not forget Thunderbirds and both BSG series.

Pft. Kid today. Don't know what Fireball XL5 is.

Zumi go home...

Definitely The Expanse. Absolutely fantastic show, and the books are WELL worth reading also.

Dark Matter's a decent show as well. Not as good as Expanse, but it's got a pretty cool setting/theme; like cyberpunk in space, would be how I'd describe it. Pretty sure the first couple seasons are on Netflix, so you can easily go check out the first couple episodes and see if it's your thing.

Oh, and The Expanse season 1 is on Amazon Prime for free viewing, if you have that.

"2001: a space Odyssey" and "2010: the year we make contact" of course!
can't think of any movies that are more "Elite" than those.

just watch this and tell me if this is not the game we are playing? :D

Another vote for Babylon 5, although the real reason for me was a beige/black machine with red function keys, and an owl logo . . . .
