MP3 player in the game

I don't see any sense in doing this.
The game is already limited to one screen, why would someone want to integrate more stuff into that limited space that could otherwise be displayed to one of the other screens?

And who still uses MP3 anyway? That's really 1990ies.

Is it just me or would it not be great to have an MP3 player in the cockpit to play files while in game, like super-cruising etc. Am I alone in that?

Am pretty sure many already this, you can run any audio through your computer while the game is running. I personally use Voice attack or control media player via voice. VA's pretty handy, you can tell it to play the album or song you want.

Well it certainly would be cooler than Alt-Tabbing to your media player and back, maybe even add some post processing so it sounds like it's playing through your ships speakers too. Imagine the epic reverb inside the Anaconda cockpit :D

Yeah I tried that and other VLC skins (some much better than others) - mainly 'cos I wanted to listen to internet radio as if it was in my ship instead of using the one on the shelf by my right shoulder. Never really did it for me, I would much prefer a media player on the console or in a UI screen page so that it was more integrated with E D in full screen.

If you play ED through Steam, either as a steam game or just through a non-Steam-game shortcut, you can use the MP3 player in the overlay for your in-game music needs. It still requires shift-tabbing to get to the overlay, but it's not near as invasive or disruptive as an alt-tab, and though it's still not as good as an in-cockpit player it gets the job done.

This is the way I'd like it integrated; so that it's part of the audio scheme of the game proper. Get your canopy blown out and you lose your tunes, that kind of thing. I added SO MANY RADIO STATIONS to FNV, because it was cool to have the music as part of the game itself, and not just some other program I'm running. I can dualscreen my player, but that's not nearly as neat.

That sort of intergration into the game would be cool. It would be awesome to be able to pick your own tracks and allocate them to certain game mechanics .. In combat I might go for my pumping intense track, but have something more lay back for SC, or switch to an online radio station when docked at a station etc etc .. I think that would be cool and allow you complement or replace the music that way.

Joining the idea.
The right panel definitely lacks at least "radio" tab.
However a DIN-slot with player somewhere below would be even better :)
