Mr. Braben Lander from 1987

If you're interested in Zarch, you may be interested in my Zarch Optimisation Project. As well as getting Zarch to run natively on modern ARM machines (eg Raspberry Pi) and expanding the landscape to fill the screen, I'm also optimising the game for the original 8Mhz ARM2 Archimedes to improve its frame rate.

There's a lot of technical details around the work done to date at the start of the video, at roughly 2/3rds I stop jabbering and leave the game running in demo mode.

It's at a point where it could be released, if both David Braben and Superior Software give approval...if you're reading this David, get in touch as I've been unable to contact you through official channels.

I think you said once you use some input curves? I was too lazy to bother downloading something for that.

Joystick Curves. By limiting the input from small deflections, it effectively stabilises pitch and roll by reducing accidental inputs. If, say, you're trying to pitch, you're always going to have a small amount of lateral deflection; this is less of an issue when the input is dampened.

It won't automatically dampen rotation, but it will make it a bit easier to manage.
