Newcomer / Intro Multi Tasking via Docking Computer

I've only been playing for a few weeks now, but over the weekend I decided to put a docking computer in my Cobra.
The first few times I docked with it, I thought I was just being lazy and couple probably make better use of the slot (and probably still can).

Then I realized that I have a couple of minutes to multitask every time I dock. At first it was a built in bathroom break, but now I've found myself working little projects during docking. I even have a folding table setup next to my computer desk so all I have to do is spin the chair and put a couple of minutes into my side projects.

Same. I put one in my Cobra out of paranoia, but always carry one now, even to Sag A and back.

If I didnt have one, I would hardly ever post here.

You should really keep an eye on it. You don't want to turn back to your ship in time to see it's gone a bit HAL vs Dave on you.

Dc is really quite safe now. It does fart about a lot at outposts, and does chicken out from the slot sometimes which is very scarey, but never gets through even my puny Explorer Shields.

Just don't go in too hot. High speed at an acute angle with flight assist off can still get you mangled on the cow catcher, but who does that crazy stuff

If you find that you are following an Orca into the docking slot then abort. Increase throttle and do a lazy loop back out to about 5km. The Orca has a habit of sitting just inside for about 10 seconds. This is enough that your ship under DC will either suddenly start evasive manouvers inside of the cage or just plow on through the Orca. V1.3 should sort this out.

My docking computer tries to put my ships through the slot and onto pads at stations sideways at times so "BEWARE"!
