Kinda.

Basic idea, allow "crew" to join any ship, even without a spare crew seat, and they join as basically a camera crew, straight to the camera suit.
A spectator of sorts, and you can have more than one.

Why?
Well, I love the new camera suit, but have you tried flying your own ship, and controlling the camera at the same time?

For all the video enthusiasts out there, you can then have a "camera crew" onboard all ships, allowing you to film some pretty cool stuff, which requires the camera to be pinned to the ship, which can currently only be done using MC capable ships.

You can also just have spectators watch you do something for whatever reason.
