Yes this is to be implemented. I will probably make use of the other 2 slots to have instant, real time market information from 2 other locations without having to travel there. I believe this tactic is also used in EVE.

See, this is exactly why I am so vehemently opposing any artifical obscurity on the markets. Only tools like Slopeys Best Price calculator will prevent gameplay like this.

I hate having to relog just to get information which enable me to play the way I want. One of the major reasons why I never got deeply into EVE Online.

I really hope Frontier at least know about and ackknowledge these kind of situations in their design.

I don't really see this type of behaviour being very viable, unless you have very limited systems you trade between, with only a jump or two in between. Plus, anyone could come in and flood / buy up the market by the time you got there (depending on the volatility of the market). But maybe I'm not thinking it through enough :p

How can you say only tools will prevent this kind of play when the full gameplay systems aren't in place yet? You could still use Thrudd's site as all the information is manually entered.

So you hate having to play a game the way the designers intended it to be played? I'm guessing you've not heard of eve-central.

The only way boxing would be viable would be via the use of - currently non existent - third party tools. Which I imagine will be outside of the EULA.

Not that I'm considering their use but thinking about the way they could work... You'd need a chat channel system where you control all input from one instance. It would require software that's intelligent enough to move the slave ships without direct user input - so a command that tells the shave ship to move to a coordinate, ie a point currently x distance off your port wing - where the code automatically uses thrusters and aligns the ship to get it the destination; note that this would be much easier to code if the game has an auto-pilot system already in place (another reason I never want to see auto-pilot, is the utility it gives to boxing). It would need to be capable of targeting, which would either send the existing commands or use a hack to target the same ship you are targeting, no matter what direction it is facing, then automatically face it. The rest would be command driven - fire weapons, jump, power distribution, etc.

Is it possible? Most likely. Is it likely to happen? Less likely. Would it be a ban offence to use such software? Definitely. It would be, for all intents and purposes, cheat software.

As mentioned a few times above, boxing in ED is really not going to have much game-play benefit, is potentially impossible on one PC and, even if used on multiple systems, highly impractical to manage for any tasks other than the simplest. Yes, it'll possibly be viable for mining which will be a route to earning faster cash for the main account. It could also be viable for earning cash faster on trade/courier runs (if on two or more PCs), as you'll be able to do two, or more, runs in the same time it takes to do one.

But it won't be viable for combat. And that's all that really matters to me.

I wanted 2 accounts for 2 separate role i want to play. I want 1 so I can explore deep space for a long time without traveling back to far into human controlled space.
The other is the account I want to use as a mercenary in the core systems, fighting in warzone and bounty hunting. I doubt I'll be able to run back and forth from the core systems to deep space often on a single account
