Multiple trains in Alpha 3

One thing i noticed today was that the tab was shown where the number of trains could be selected and the numer of seats per train.

I kind of expected this would be talked about today since it's a lot about "managing" a coaster (More trains means higher operation costs but also higher capacity)
Unfortunatly there wasn't said a single word about this, which makes me wonder if it will be available in Alpha 3?

(Showing the tab, but not talk about them is kinda asking for questions like this one [wink])

Maybe in tomorrows live stream? [happy]

Ed told Silvarret he could add more trains yesterday but Silvarret was distracted and said he would do it later [tongue]

Did he? i completely missed that part!!

Guess i have to re-watch the stream then! And makes me wonder if it's already functional in a realistic way.
(since we're going the realistic route this time i guess you can add only as meny trains as we have coaster "sections". We also had this option back in RCT3. But i didn't hear anything about it in PC yet)

Thanks for pointing this out!

Speaking of multiple trains! While i'm sure it's a wish for many of us, as we haven't seen anything related to transfer tracks, I'm assuming that they're not happening? [sad]
Not yet at least! Fingers crossed for the future.

They said Sunday would be a catchup on everything so far and a Q and A session. I wonder if they may have a little time allocated for a few of the things not mentioned yet. Some big reveals maybe. I'm ever hopeful [big grin]

I thought I saw for a brief second as he was mousing over the track types there were block brakes.

Were they? But i guess those should be on -all- the coaster then i guess? Maybe i should rewatch the streams to see if the block brakes are present on coasters.

On the coaster track types there is a button I feel like looks like transfer tracks however nobody is mousing over or clicking on it. I like the community streamers but the are not as investigative as I would be. I'd be clicking and looking at everything I could.

This is the one, maybe I missed it but what's this last one.

This is exactly why i posted earlyer today that i think the livestreams for Alpha 1 and 2 were way better.

The streams for Alpha 3 seem rushed, like they just show the feature and move on. Back with alpha 1 and 2 , they could talk quite long about certain features, up untill you really understood what you can do and what you can't do. (Look at the terrain tool for example, they explained all options and all button's)

This time it seems like i have more questions -after- the livestream as i had -before- the livestream. Dont't get me wrong, i love the game and love all the reveals, but i think the information given on streams could have been quite a bit better and more organised.

Interesting!!

I highly doubt if those are transfer tracks, but they might be something like block brakes indeed (altoug i would have expeced a "-" sign then since all brakes have this sign.
Anyway it's a good catch and im very curious if those have anything to do with having multiple trains!

I also caught the Block Brakes section option when Silvarret was going through, so I feel like it's in game we just haven't been lucky enough to have someone use it.

As for the streams feeling "thrown together" as well as the community members not thoroughly testing new items and doing badly... Keep in mind, they are doing these in front of a live audience, in a loud auditorium, with lights and distracting Dino's walking by. The dev's are trying to relay information when prompted by Ed (but he's easily distracted and sidetracks a lot), and the community members surely aren't used to doing live streams in front of other people, let alone an audience and small production crew. We should probably cut them some slack, all the past live streams have been in a quiet studio room at the Frontier office and they weren't also having to plan live demonstrations and deal with audience members and crowds. [up]

Well said David.

I was also thinking that the community members that have taken part may have been prepped not to test or try out certain things... [mouth shut]

Ed specifically stated that silvarret had a little practice time with the alpha 3 before they started streaming and encouraged them to explore whatever they liked

Haha, I think Ed might have eluded to this when he kept iterating that this is a "pre-alpha" build. Most likely this version was compiled earlier in the week, and since they have mentioned that most of the devs are still back at the office working, the build we get next week will likely have fixes and optimizations. I'm hoping that they fix the water graphical glitches I've noticed.

Totally true, and in no way shape or form do i put the blame on Ed or any of the other dev's or guests [happy] I truly believe they do the best they can.
But if the streams are less informative or less structured for all the reason's you listed, then i hope the next streams will be back in the studio [wink]

Yes, i was thinking the same thing... Im pretty sure ed even stated at one point that a certain screen would spoil things.

Ive been saying to myself every day, these streams are to cover the 3 main areas, create, manage, share. Tomorrow being share, I feel they are covering the basics of each. I feel and hope that the 4th day will be the fun one though that's like a question day cover all missed things that didn't really fit into each subject prior, such as block brakes, transfer tracks etc. I am at least hoping to hear progress on them.

Not only tranfer. More important is stuff like reverse launch and passing the station multiple time or working when the track is not finished. Rct3 had all of those so i'm hopefull.

I'm hopeful for all, but train run on unfinished track. I couldn't care less, if people want it I will not oppose, however I feel it takes away from the realism and this game seems its on track for a mature realistic game, I doubt it will be included. The others though 100% yes I want them, they have to be there.
