Multiple trains in Alpha 3

I am also really looking forward to building coasters with multiple trains, great satisfaction when it's all automated. I was not a fan of trains waiting on the lift hill either... [happy]

I've always enjoyed the challenge of perfecting the coaster and it's timings with as many trains as possible to make it run smoothly with minimal stopping.

I know it's not exactly multiple trains related.. While I want multiple trains, and transfer track, what I REALLY REALLY REALLY want is Switches...

So that you can have dual stations, with switches before and after the stations (ala Big Thunder Railroad in Florida), and also I want them so you can do reverser hills like on Expidition Everest, where the train goes up, stops and then goes back down, and is switched to a different track segment.

That would also allow for multiple trains as well.. :) Plus it would be really cool if you could build dual tracks, that the switch alternated trains on, so that after a train passed the switch changed position... For example.. say it was on L and then a train went by, and then it would be on R, then a train would go by and it would go back to L and on and on...

Just a musing from someone with some interesting ideas for coasters, that he hasn't been able to realize....\

Have you ever been a part of the RCT community in the old days? If you search up "RCT 3 Death Park" you will find videos with 700K views. From eight years ago. It was really fun with the 3D and totally unreal physics when it was released.

In the old days as you call it I was too busy earning a living and taking care of my family to care that much. Besides, I saw too much actual killing and death serving in Viet Nam, including my son's godfather not more than 10 feet from me to see it in a game, much less enjoy it.

But, back on topic, I do think we need multiple trains (or cars) because I know that a lot of theme parks add or subtract trains depending on how busy the coaster gets. Also, without more trains (cars) how could you do a spook ride or wild mouse?

Well then let the others have their share of fun and me and you can have our realism. Simple as that. (pls no mor deth)

And yes, we do need multiple trains. Which we are obviously getting! 3 more day's till we are gonna make the alpha 3 release a holiday because water and multiple trains and block brakes. WHOOO!

Same here!!

Its very annoying to see a train wait on the lifthill. It doesn't happen in real life, and thus i dont want it in my game.

The answer to that is probably that coasters in real life have a good design. Train 2 only departs te station in a timeframe where they know that by the time train 2 is at top of the lifthill, train 3 will have passed the first real blockbrake. I think if PC is getting a realistic approach, you wont see the train waiting if you have a good coaster design and correct "minimum waiting time" settings [happy]

... That is pretty much what I said, is it not?
And I remember when I was riding Valravn at Cedar Point I saw a TV showing how many people were on it, and I think that when I got back to the station I always saw the last train there? Either that or there was a block brake on the midway brake run or so that triggered the next one to go and we were just waiting on the third train. (Is there three?)

They just answered in the livestream. It's not possible to have multiple trains yet.

Thanks for clearing that up!!

We'll get Multi Trains ion November, its a little bit of a shame, but id rather Frontier get it right to the high standards of the rest of the game

I find this really odd.

Surely multiple trains are a key part of the simulation and park management that will be encorported into alpha 3.

I.e. The more trains avaliable will lead to better efficiency (efficiency being a word that the devs keep using in terms of management)

What makes this even more strange is that I'm sure they showed off a steel tracked euro fighter type coaster which of course has a carriage rather than a train consisting of 2 rows and 4 seats.

Surely if there's only going to be one of these carriages then the ride will be impossible to make a profit on, unless the ride is incredibe short.

If it's not ready or still buggy then they're not going to add it yet. They're only implementing limited management stuff, they are still very busy working on the game and it's nowhere near ready yet!

Also ALPHA!

Exactly my thoughts. This is very disappointing. I expected that they would be added VERY early on and it is a fundamental part of coasters. For the short trains with a very low capacity we will get SUCH a low capacity. I am very disappointed.

So basically all the info we saw was lies? Why would you have a game that has mechanics that are not gonna be released in that build? It's like saying, "Hey. We got this cool new GTX 1280 Wanna try it out?" Me: "Ok!" "Btw this will never get released to the public."
