Hardware & Technical Multiscreen

Wow! i want that last guys device that shoots out, those flexible devices look great.

I reckon that device is still just a fantasy until they work out how to support it from going floppy and still pull the screen out at speed. But it does look really cool.

Next they should work out how to make each individual sound emanate from the part of the flexible screen it relates to. Yes I do mean from the screen itself, so re-shaping the screen keeps the sounds coming from the right direction :)

I see today Samsung are unveiling their new curved looking phones etc, so i suppose thats the first step.
There were a few doubts from some about how they can, if possible and cheaply! produce the flexible looking gadgets that you showed us, i hope for one they can :)

I would love to be able to plug my iPad into my PC and use it as an enhancement of sime kind, star map, scanner, or other charts.

But otherwise i prefer the concept of Oculus Rift for immersive cockpit. The issue being be able to see your controls! It does demand that you be able to touch type for a start!

I use the Cockpit HD from Remote Flight with Microsoft FSX. It would be great if FD provided some sort of API or SimConnect function to allow this sort of app to be created for devices. Whilst Oculus Rift support is great it seems like the consumer release is a year off whereas many of us have devices that could be used on release of E D.

Apart from instruments such an API could allow for navigation charts, trading and communications.

I have 3 27" monitors and I really can't wait to be flying around in 5760x1080. Sorry guys but size does matter. :p

Mine is currently wedged into the spare room running two monitors although i do have two more old LCD screens like the lower one kicking around, I'm upgrading my graphics card after xmas and will probably buy a cheap PCI one at the same time to run the other two.

I'll move the whole lot over so i can mount them portrait style next to my main screen (need room for the HOTAS on the chair arms anyway)

I'm hoping I can get the control interface or map data or what ever on the lower screen, for most games i use it to keep team speak on, skype calls and stuff show up on that one as well.

Came across this company earlier today that provide free and licences software that basically manages multi-monitor setups - wallpapers, screensavers and the like. Has a ton of free images too that can be used for multiscreen setups. From what I can see, the free version is pretty good. For €25, the pro version does things like carry across taskbars and the like:

displayfusion link removed because I'm a new user and can't post (or quote) hyperlinks
Might be usual for others.
p.s I'm not on commission!

Necroquote warning!

I use this software but have not had a chance to see what it brings to ED.

There are no options for multiscreen, just set the resolution to what it says in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution for your main screen set up.

Brian :)
