Music TLC for 4 of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2

I have to praise the developers for the sheer amount of music added in Jurassic World Evolution 2. The quality and variety freshen up each game session I have so far, thanks in part that what music you listen to is depending on what task you are taking, which map you are playing on, and what dinosaurs you have in your park. It is one aspect I look forward to the most with each new DLC.

With that said, I have noticed that 4 of the dinosaurs in the game could do with some musical tracks. These 4 animals are all from paid DLC, with 2 of them being star dinosaurs from the recent Dominion movie. The criticism I have here is that the music tracks used I feel are too generic for these dinosaurs that it hinders their appeal, and dilutes their unique position in the roster, be it from what role they had in the franchise, or what unique niche they occupy.

1. GIGANOTOSAURUS
Jurassic World Evolution 2_20230404230510.jpg

Like the T-rex, Velociraptors, Spinosaurus, and the hybrids before her, the Giganotosaurus is a star dinosaur, specifically the big baddie of the Jurassic World Dominion movie that had her filling the role of the rival to Jurassic Park's Rexy. Unlike the previously mentioned dinosaurs, however, she lacks any music track that highlights her position in the Dominion movie.

At first, I thought it could be because she is a variant of the existing giganotosaurus so she is limited to her base variant track, but the Dominion 2022 variant of the dreadnoughtus at least came with a unique track for her exit animation from what I observed. If the Giga could get the extra love of having some unique tracks tied to her, she could further solidify herself as the star dinosaur from the JWD and bring a unique track that invokes her role as the Biosyn Baddie.

2. ATROCIRAPTOR
Jurassic World Evolution 2_20230404231857.jpg

The second dominion star dinosaur and one that does have a unique track tied to the dinosaur in JWE2. When incubating a single atrociraptor, a unique track plays as she exits the incubation lab.

My issue here is that it is the only track that is provided to the atrociraptor, every other music track used for when she leaves the incubation lab as a group or when simply observing the animal would play the default small carnivore music. This is especially noticeable since Atrociraptors are pack animals, and it is more likely for players to incubate them in batches of up to 6 members instead of incubating and releasing them egg by egg, unless the player wants to incubate the atrociraptor pack in the movie. This means that the music track is only ever experienced in small situations, and the Atrociraptors would end up with a music set that does not make her stand out from the other small carnivores in the game.

3. ALAMOSAURUS
Jurassic World Evolution 2_20230404232016.jpg

This large Cretaceous North American titanosaur has by far my favorite exit animation track, it is very monumental and epic. Given how long it takes to research the Alamosaurus in the game, the soundtrack amplifies the momentous occasion perfectly.

Which is why it is so evil that it is only ever heard if you incubae and release a single individual 😔

If you incubate a pair of Alamosaurs, the music track used would be the default large sauropod music, and it pales in comparison to what this animal was given. I would love it if it got to use the same music track when incubated individually or as a pair, similar to how the Tyrannosaurus Rex retains her exit animation track when incubated individually or in pairs. I personally may not incubate Alamosaurs as a pair when the opportunity presents itself simply to hear her exit animation, regardless of the potential loss in money and resources to discard the second egg. It. Is. That. Good.

4. DEINOCHEURUS
Jurassic World Evolution 2_20230404235241.jpg

Lastly, the latest and fuzzies dinosaur in this list is the Deinocheurus.

The Deinocheurus exit animations are great, she has two exit animation music tracks depending if you incubate her as an individual or as a group, and they perfectly capture how unusual this animal is.

My only comment is that similar to the atrociraptor, she uses a default track when observing the animal, and I do not think it matches her at all.

When observing this animal, the music track for the medium/large carnivore would play, and while I understand she is a piscivore, the music track feels way too menacing for this animal. The track works well for animals like the Carnotaurus or Baryonyx cause they both give off that dangerous predator vibe, Deniocheurus, on the other hand, occupies such an unusual niche that the foreboding danger music does not suit her, and I would instead love to hear a track that is similar to her exit animations that compliments her unusual features and position in the roster, one that celebrates that you have a Deinocheurus in the park.

--------

These dinosaurs so far are the only ones I think could do with some additional TLC when it comes to music. I believe that great music really adds to delivering a great experience, and would love to see these dinosaurs get the additional tracks needed to have them stand out amongst the other dinosaurs in the roster. What do you think? Are there any other dinosaurs that could do with some musical TLC?

Thanks for reading!

What is the full list of species with special tracks?
I am unsure what the full list of species with unique tracks is, but if memory serves me well:...

Base game:
• Compsognathus
• Velociraptor
• Spinosaurus
• Indominous Rex
• Indoraptor

Camp Cretaceous DLC:
• Ankylosaurus with Bumpy skin (only heard when incubating a single egg)
• Monolophosaurus
• Scorpious rex

Biosyn Dominion Expansion DLC:
• Dimetrodon
• Pyroraptor
• Therizinosaurus
• Quuetzalcoatlus
• Dreadnoughtus with 2022 variant

Late Cretaceous DLC:
• Alamosaurus (only heard when incubating a single egg)
• Austtrelovenator
* Barbaradacttylus* I heard that this species was given a new track with update 6 but I have yet to incubate a batch since then.

Malta Expansion DLC:
• Atrociraptor (only heard when incubating a single egg)
• Lystrosaurus
• Moros Intrepidus
• Oviraptor

Feathered Pack:
• Deinocheirus (only when released from the lab)
• Sinosauropteryx
• Yutyrannus

From what I have seen (or more appropriately heard), it is usually a dinosaur that has a unique role in the movie such as those from the base game, or future additions via DLC that are given additional care with signature music tracks.

I mentioned in the previous thread post that the T-rex has a unique track, but looking over the roster, I think the sequel's Cryolophosaurus was provided with the T-rex track, at least when being released from the incubation lab.

I am happy to update you that the Deinocheurus was updated with new music that is heard when observing the animal, it matches the odd ornithomimosaurid perfectly!

That makes 1/4 animals that were given the Music TLC. Thank you Music Team for applying this addition, it may be a small detail but one that is greatly appreciated and elevates the atmosphere these dinosaurs bring! I hope the other three listed hear will be given a similar treatment, I will be keeping an ear out for any new tunes that might pop up in future updates! 👂

Amazing work! 👍

I can't help but think of this dinosaur recently and want to know what you guys think:

The Cryolophosaurus so far is the only dinosaur that shares the same theme as the Tyrannosaurus Rex. I was fine with this for a good while as there were times in Jurassic World Evolution 1 when a dinosaur would have the same theme as another like how the pachycephalosaurus used to use the velociraptor theme.

Now after two years of additions in Jurassic World Evoltuion 2, I really like the dedication the music team has when it comes to new dinosaurs, as almost every new dinosaur or variant would have music tracks associated with them, adding more to the atmosphere to the game depending on the roster you have housed in your parks.

My question is this, do you think the Cryolophosaurus should not use the Tyrannosaurus theme anymore? I initially like the use of the T-rex theme for this dinosaur as there were clinging sounds at the start of the theme that would compliment this animal's cold dig site location in Antartica, but the more I hear it, the more I see her leave the hatchery with a mindset of "That isn't the T-rex". Which makes me want the cryolophosaurus not to use the theme anymore, not to undermine the cryolophosaurus, but to make the theme genuenly exclusive to the Tyrannosaurus rex.

If you then think the cryolophosaurus should no longer use the T-rex's theme, do you think it should use the default medium predator theme, or have a unique theme of her own? While the cryolophosaurus is a base game carnivore, she is very remote compared to every other dinosaur in the game, practically the only antartican dinosaur, so much so they added Antrartica in the Expedition Map for her dig site location to make sense! I think this one would be more fitting if she had a theme unique to her own, because she is a fairly unique dinosaur given her small size for a medium carnivore, her sleek look with a decorated crest, unique location and overal anatomy and animation.

What do you guys think? I want to hear your thoughts if this could lead to an interesting theme being introduced to the game.

Today I just learned that both the Barbaridactylus and Styxosaurus have unique music when releasing a single animal from the hatchery! 🤯

It has been more than two years and this is the first time I am hearing the music tracks! I was thinking how only the Alamosaurus and Australovenator were the only ones that got music in the Late Cretaceous Pack, and I was curious if the other two did have music tracks, provided you incubate a single egg similar to how the Alamosaurus has a music track unique for the single release of that species.

And it turns out they did! They are such nice tracks as well, and it feels other worldly to hear the music for these two species because I rarely if ever incubate a single egg for either species. I just assumed that the Late Cretaceous pack was similar to the Early Cretaceous pack in having animals using existing music with the exception of two animals, but it turns out each of them at least has a single track when released from the incubation lab.

I am curious to know if there were plans to revisit these dinosaurs. These two as well as the ones listed previously sounded like they had an incomplete set of music for these animals. I am curious if there are or were plans to include additional tracks to complete the atmosphere these dinosaurs were intended to provide. Again, the implementation of these music tracks are amazing, and one I like as they make these animals stick out from one another, especially to dinosaurs of a similar niche within the roster.

If not a complete set, could we at least hear the single release Alamosaurus, Styxosaurus, and Barbaridactylus music play when releasing multiple? It would be like the T-rex, as the Tyrannosaur uses the same release music if you incubate them alone or in pairs, and the three music tracks here are quite impressive on their own that they would fit even if multiple dinosaurs leave the hatchery.

How come the Tarbosaurus doesn't have that?
I could only assume to follow the flow of how DLC dinosaurs have exclusive music tied to them, as every species pack since the feathered species pack would have music assigned to all of the included dinosaur's exit animations and ambient. Plus, a unique music track for the Tarbosaurus would help distinguish itself from the Tyrannosaurus rex further.

While on the topic of music, I also think it would be interesting if the music team could make a music track for the large apex carnivores, which are the Acrocanthosaurs, Carcharodontosaurus, and base Giganotosaurus.

All of them use the medium/large carnivore theme, and the other large apex carnivores being the Tarbosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, and Indominous rex all have unique themes to reflect their appearances in the franchise.

Still, I think these three in particular should have a unique theme they share, mainly because I find them to be unique in the roster. They are large carnivores, but they are of the 7 large apex predators that have a security rating of 6, making them some of the most dangerous animals you could contain, as they have the ability to escape from any enclosure that is not the invisible BioSyn fencing. They are not as famous as the T-rex, but they are just as dangerous.

To summarize this thread, here is a condensed list of dinosaurs that need music TLC.

1. DOMINION GIGANOTOSAURUS & ATROCIRAPTOR
Canon star dinosaurs lacking appropriate music. The atrociraptor only has a single track, and it only plays during the single release incubation.

2. LATE CRETACEOUS DINOSAUR PACK TRIO
Unlike the australovenator, the alamosaurus, styxosaurus, and barbaridactylus only has music tracks for the single release incubation.

3. BASE GAME DINOSAURS
This is more of a suggestion.

The Cryolophosaurus could either use the medium carnivore music track or a track unique to its own, as it currently shares the same music as the Tyrannosaurus rex.

The 3 apex carnivores, Acrocanthosaurs, Carcharodontosaurus, and base Giganotosaurus, could also be given a more unique track due to their niche as T-rex like apex predators in the roster.

In Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis; T-Rex, Spinosaurus, and Brachiosaurus have special music played when first released into the park.

I have once modded the Brachiosaurus one into using "Brachiosaurus on the Bank" from Jurassic Park: III.
