Mustang's or Przewalski's horse

i have seen people posting about having domesticated animals in our zoo's catalog of animals to represent. I think this might hit both front. Mustang's are an American wild horse, while the Przewalski's horse is the Mongolian wild horse. The reason i bring up both these horses is because awareness needs to be spread on what is happening to both of them. Here's the deal;

The Przewalski's horse
The Przewalski's horse has been declared Endangered. The reason's are because of human hunting, loss of habitat, loss of water sources, and domestication. The Przewalski's horse is the only wild horse left in the world.

The Mustang
The mustang is an American wild horse. As of right now, The American government has a culling out on mustangs. The American government is actually paying to have the number's reduced all because the federal government wants farmers to pay to use their land over allowing wild horses to stay wild... I think both of these animals would be a wonderful thing to bring into the zoo atmosphere. I also think that it will open up people's eyes to understanding that every country has animal right's issues and that there are serious problems with conservation.

I think przewalski's horses are a little boring and plain-looking. I'd love mustangs, though, if they came in a few color variations.
And soon people will be posting to tell you that American mustangs are feral, not wild, which is technically true, although they've been feral for a few hundred years at this point already.

imo the przewalskis wild horse are more interesting,as their biology didnt change since thousands of years, their anatomy and look is pretty same as ice age wild horses,do they look unique. Mustangs otherwise look like modern domestic horse.Nothing really interesting imo.

American mustang's are round up every year and either culled or broken in.. If we can have bison and other hooved animals, there should be no difference in having Mustangs..Mustang's are actually an American Icon.. in their own right..

Note: there is another horse that is rounded up every year and the same thing happens to them.

Both are an example of the difference between the type of horse you can see world wide. Neither of these animals are from the same area and both live in a completely different environments. Both will have their fan's.. but either or both will bring in a bit of a flare to what is found around the world..

By the way, przewalski's horses actually aren’t “real” wild horses, but feral domesticated horses like mustangs. The difference is that they went feral quite a while ago.

Genetic analysis has proven that they are descendants of the “Botai” horses which were bred in the Kazakstan ... 5500 years before now.

While Botai horses are typically black and white, this color is apparently associated with night blindness and was therefore lost in the feral descendants.

They are the closest thing e have to wild horses left..

I love the przewalski horse since I learned about them in the spiritual predecessor, they have nothing of "boring", the fur pattern is beautiful, the colors scream "mongolian steppe" for me, and I love how sturdy and different from the domestic horse they are. And interesting enough they represent a somewhat successful case of reintroduction, since at a time they were considered extinct in the wild

Indeed.
Interestingly, the above-mentioned researchers also discovered the reason for this: przewalski's horses are actually not direct ancestors of our current domesticated horses!
Obviously, they share a common ancestor. But they didn't help to ifdentify the origins of our current domesticated horse - their roots remain still unknown.

OK, this was the last of my unrequested "fun facts", I promise. ;)
