My cat flippin' RULES at E: D. Not bad at Dark Souls either.I tried to get my cat playing ED. He was more interested in sinking his claws in my leg.
No but seriously it's fun to see such young ones to be into that kind of stuff. When i was his age i was all over the dinosaurs. Then came the universe. After learning our solar system in and out i went further into the void.
Then my head exploded.![]()
I recall somebody else started a thread where he (the poster) had a grandson who was happy to watch his Grandfather playing ED, so Grandfather bought Grandson a copy of the game. On one occasion the boy is playing the game, with Grandfather reading the news. At one point the boy very quietly said "That's so beautiful". Grandfather looked up to see that his Grandson had parked his ship in space, and was looking at the stars.
Repped, for the beauty of the post.
Try Altair. Has a blue-white sun and is home to a rare good.Yea.. can't we have a fantastic trade route in a system with a black hole and a couple of blue stars aswell as the station orbiting a ringed planet really close? Tired of sitting around at an orange star with my orange cockpit waiting for an orange hollow dot to come up.
We looked at Mercury, saw how big the sun looked from its orbit, went to Venus, which he knows is very hot. We read all the info on various planets on the system map, etc.
Then I went to Mars High, accidentally stuffed the ship into a wall and exploded.
Proper belly laughing, he was. I think we have an Elite: Dangerous convert, lads

Haha, that's great! My 4 year old specifically wanted me to get my ship blown up, so I took my Hauler and flew at a star and kept it there until it went bang. He thought it was great and then went back to watching junk on Youtube.![]()
Nice, my son did a Primary School project on the Solar System after Christmas and so I took him to Sol and he flew around the planets and loved it.
Very nice, but i hope you told him that mars looks a little bit different in reality![]()

I think FDEV is missing a lot of potential revenue by not considering an option to let players buy extra CMDRs at a reduced rate. I would very gladly let my kid play ED when he gets old enough to grasp the mechanics, but I would not let him touch my regular CMDR, which I invested a lot of my very precious free time in; and €53.99 for an extra copy of the game, in which he may lose interest within a week, is way too much in a country where the average wage is about one third the UK’s.Surely I’m not the only one in that position.

Good point. [facepalm]* I guess I better tone it down. :xYou are in this thread, mate. We're all on Xbox![]()
