My Experience So Far

Well I can say thoroughly it's been a true roller coaster of emotions, from happiness, wonder, sadness, to rage. When I first got the game because a friend choose to buy it for me I was excited and could not wait to play, Beta came, I played some of it but wanted to not spoil my appetite for the game before full release so I mostly avoided it. Six weeks later Full Release comes out! And boy the bugs start hitting you in the face left and right. Some of which coming from the Beta I've seen. Now I overlooked this and started getting into the game, started a Franchise, got rid of it, started a new one after the patch came out but decided to shut it down until I played around with the mechanics more, came back a few hours later to start yet another and this is where my story and true disappointment/sadness with this game begins.

So I started a zoo, brought with me some Timber Wolves from one of the old failure Franchises and made this Franchise soar! I was making tons of money, not so much CP but long story short I nearly had all my research into diseases (maybe 10+ animals also fully researched?) and was only two away from finishing my mechanic research, was sitting at 800 or so CP with 700k money, several gold tier animals in my exhibits and just got my gorillas for the community challenge, 1000 guests solidly, and was at 4.5 star rating, this is when disaster struck. I crashed. I was like...huh okay well probably just something ran into an issue no biggy. So I started up my game again and attempted to load into my franchise, it crashed as soon as I got the slightest look at my zoo for about a second....okay...maybe something is up, I checked and realized I needed a windows update, alright so I go through updating it and try again....still the same result....okay....I decided then to enlist the help of a fellow friend who just got the game recently to update all my drivers but STILL NOTHING. I played over 48 hours in that Franchise save for this? I spent hours planning out everything and making big plans to make the biggest and coolest zoo possible with special things like a mineshaft moutain with 3 timber wolf enclosures and more!....

As you can likely guess this has induced much rage and sadness with me. This game was everything I could have ever wanted in a zoo tycoon genre game and now I feel like it's pointless to even try playing because you never know when for no reason you'll lose all that work.....this game was probably the biggest disappointment by far for me, even compared to the decline of ARK after I put 2k hours into it does not compare to this. I'm truly just sad. And as far as I can tell Frontier can't manage a simple small comment as to whether they are working to fix these issues or we are just wasting our time! It honestly feels like Frontier doesn't care anymore in my opinion.

That's how I feel about this, until things are fixed I don't know if I'll be playing much more of this game because this...just hurts.

my wife ran into the same issues, although not that far into the game. but the worst thing is that they dont ing talk to us. this is getting ridiculous by now. waiting out until nobody can refund anymore and then they gonna tell us that thats it. moneygrab breeding simulator 2019. a huge disappointment.

Update on my Franchise Zoo: Thanks to the recent patch I can now access my game save again, so thank you so much for this Frontier and I also noticed wolf group numbers have been increased! It's a good start from reading all the patch notes, sad that no option to turn off or at least reduce the number of guests rendered was not added this patch but hopefully we get this option soon as even my setup, which runs much higher end games on full settings is having issues with extreme frame drop.

Otherwise I'll keep you posted on if any other major issues occur, thank you again for getting the ball rolling on fixing the game, even if technically this should have been done in the six weeks between Beta and Full Release.

The best thing what you can do is step away, if you would not enjoy yourself, and come back after Christmas. I was disappointed too, but I have a slowly built up franchise now with only 5 habitats, with over 300K in cash now. No expensive animals and all easy to keep. No tiger, bononos or gorillas. Just the simple stuff. I just built my first peafowl walkthrough enclosure and it turns out my biggest money maker. I am already sorry that it isn't bigger.

I just want to say; Step back, and when you come back go slower than any turtle in the game. Enjoy every animal as it is. There is no rule that your zoo must be the biggest and most exotic in the game. There is only one rule; Enjoy yourself or step away.
