My first and Last post to Frontier Forums

it is a really weird glitch indeed.

it means that either some platform default service kicked off (possibly due to sloppy integration) OR that there was actually some cross-save functionality pursued and maybe shot down from above.

i would even be curious if i cared!

I have a feeling (oooooowoooooow) that OP has tried it and it's only worked to a certain point, got the hump because someone else has full access, lost his shizzle when FDev wouldn't help with the glitch

Or FDev made an attempt and couldn't get it work properly, and gave up.

Which honestly, in light of many lingering and recurring issues with the game - seems entirely plausible.

No, the bug itself isn't like tangible. the apparent only way it was working is if the microsoft account was linked to the Fdev account previously. the rest was fate, when I had repeated these steps, I didn't even get close so i brought it to Fdev's attention because I was curious if it was a bug, intentional, fixed, but as I stated the response I received was useless.
As I have stated before I have managed to contact a few other individuals that have had success with this, and some still are enjoying this. As far as i am aware you cannot simply replicate this, it happens just happenstance. and some people may not even be aware that their account would be capable of doing it.

you not got the xbox anymore, it must have linked at some point to FDev when you was playing previously?
no chance of getting the (or an) xbox up and running to make sure it links
when was the last time, before the April update? could be if you log in after, update the xbox saved game then try could it work?

The more context you provide to your situation the more flawed your argument becomes.

A player could wake up one day and find out that all the store items had mysteriously unlocked themselves in their account due to a random bug. But it wouldn’t be up to Frontier to then offer that to all players.

If you enjoy ED as much as you say you do then you should continue playing. And if you’re going to stick around, welcome to the forums... 👍
 
I don't think cross-save is possible, it's certainly not claimed by FD and I don't believe it could be "enabled" by a bug. Total data-scramble would be much more likely.

No one is asking for free store bought items though. Certainly not here. We're asking for a feature that, is basically already there. It stands to reason that if I can play games like apex, and CoD with console players, then I should atleast possess the ability to move my commander to platform I can play them on. I do not possess the means to go back to Xbox right now. It's a kick in the boys to work on an account for 4 years and have to just leave it be.

Steam said email already registered at Frontier with XB acct.
Steam allowed some sort of XB sign-in on PC? Emulator? Or just gmail login same as XB?
Random internet users claim they have super-access and cab cross save at will....without proof so far ofc and if true as a bug would be stopped immediately by Frontier if they find out the acct is doing this
Frontier have standard transferring of acct from XB to PC as described by others
Frontier refuse to compromise on long standing policy
OP doesnt want to buy 2nd copy any more after weeks of 'research'
Frontier stick to Policy and are lying, random internet user may have a glitch and is promoted to be the official spokesperson for how Frontier should do it, not Frontier themselves who have spoken

baah, not much you can do there then
as previously said though if you enjoyed the game I wouldn't give up on it, maybe go down the route of getting your credits transferred over as that alone will help getting you back to where you are, even more so if its based on asset value

Lol. Sounds about right.

In summary: it's Frontier Developments game, and they make the rules.

Have you deleted or reset your old account, or are you just saying you don't have an xbox to play on?

No, i'm just not going to debate or engage about my efforts with someone who at the core of it doesn't care about the issue. I've already had the pleasure of wasting mine and the individuals time that i spoke with over these weeks, that was made present by Frontier.
No my account is all linked together and has been since about july, My xbox took the big death. And i have bought so many Xbox's over the years, that I can't justify another.
