Ow boy, my was heart was bouncing in my throat, adrenalin rush, but no panic..
Was working for some money in a Compromized NAV beacon yesterday, i needed the money because i lost two Couriers, and serveral millions on bounty claims the day before.
There was a CMDR Vulture hunting in the same area, but we both kept our distance, and it was ok.
At one monent the Vulture came close, and was trying to steal my kills, he succeeded a few times aswell. So i moved 6 a 7 KM away again, and hunted over there. After 5 minutes this same Vulture was near me again to steal my kills again.
He really got under my skin, i wanted him gone, but i was friendly in the system i was hunting, and i dont want to go hostile there..
My next target was a Elite Python. NICE!! Also good for my combat rank! And yes, that Vulture came in when i got the Python to 50% hull, but then it happend, he turned hostile! Most likely he forgot to scan the Python, or he shot me by mistake.
I killed off the Python, and targeted him, he was close and i was able to him one time with my bursts.. He didn't liked it and made a shield destroying run on me.
What he didn't realized is that he only zapped away my C5 Bi-weave shields, and that my fully upgraded 2100 armor Hulltanker FAS Batteringram was still very much alive..
In a matter of seconds his shields went down, he tried to run, but since he really got under my skin for the last 20 minutes i didn't let him go, i had him masslocked, be probably paniced cus he could have high waked out, but didn't. My large bursts, and medium MC's took take of him a couple of seconds later.. Boom!
My first CMDR kill was fact, my heart still in my throat, somewhat feeling guilty, but also it felt really, really nice..
I came out with still 90% hull left.. Love me my FAS!..

The situation you describe is the one in which I might turn on another player too.
I would have done the same. It is very impolite and insulting to steal kills.
99.9% of the time I get attacked first and am forced to defend myself.

As soon as i hit lvl 30 the game dropped dead for me.. not sure why.
I had a feeling it was limited and potentially repetitive.

Ha! Same here man. Hit level 30, and thus begins the endless grind for gear. If I'm gonna endlessly grind on any game, it's gonna be ED damnit! Good story btw

That was propably me. I comented on a FAS that twitched around in space like crazy and ended up blasting my canopy wide open. I thought that might have been a glitch.
I had about 3 minutes left on my life support as he exploded in a fiery ball of flames, showering me in a feeling of pure self satisfaction.
Aaahahaaaaa revenge is sweeeet.
But of i was as fast as i could to repair my viper mk4.

I remember the feeling. I only PvP in Powerplay or self defense. Last night I was in a clipper and Hudson pledge flying an asp ex was roaming around. I decided to leave him be as I was feeling generous. Then saw a player in a fed dropshil, also Hudson. Left him be. Then another in a vulture. Same story, decided if leave them alone. I feel confident the only one that might have made my life hard was the vulture. But I've been surprised before.

All of my Cmdr kills have been in self defense. Only one wing among that lot, so they weren't in an organised PvP group. A Vulture and a Clipper who interdicted me in my Ferdie...I took the powerplant and life support out on the Clipper, left him floating whilst I fried the Vulture. I was tempted... very briefly... to let the Clipper pilot choke to death on his own vomit... but decided against it and fried him too. Neither of them logged, suprisingly.
A Competent rated Corvette who interdicted then chased me for 10 minutes firing purple tennis balls for all he was worth. I was in the Cutter, flying backwards faster than he could boost forwards. I got bored with the game after a while and boost rammed him a few times whilst firing the big tennis-ball-chucker-outer and all my weapons at his powerplant since I had 8A shields, a few SCB's and a stack of boosters fitted. I guess he thought I was more interested in cargo space...
A few solo 'competent' or 'Harmless' rated Clippers just after the Sothis gold rush who decided all by themselves that they were legends. They were ganking T6's outside a station when they decided my Anaconda looked much bigger, unfortunately, it was... so were my shields and my guns.
One deadly rated Anaconda in a Hazres who quite possibly attacked me by mistake.
He was quite decent about it when I met him later, it was a decent scrap... we passed a friendly 'o7' when passing in SC an hour or so after it.
The rest of the potential gankers, all low rated in big ships, all logged when they realised I was shooting back better than they were shooting at me...common story these days unfortunately
I've mentioned on here often enough that I really can't abide PvP and avoid it rather than face the pointless confrontation, that still stands. But, just because I don't by habit, doesn't mean I can't... and we all have those days when sheer irritation gets the better of a generally friendly nature.

Nice Dusty! i had a Vulture cmdr flying around a CNB, i accidently shot him got a bounty but he was ever so nice about it. i dont know maybe it was because i was flying my clown shoe and he felt sorry for me. Oh hiya Gord.
