Stealing kills is just not cricket old chap..you did good! The same happened to me on Monday..like you, I was avoiding this wing of 3 (2 cobras & Viper MkIII) & their targets in my DBS..one time I didn't realise & backed off after I had shot a gunship that they were working on, so again like you, went to a FAS about 7km away..they came in when it was about 20% hull & really annoyingly my multicannons stopped firing to reload on 1% & I lost the bounty.
..usually I warn them before I attack, but one Cobra was Expert & the other a Master, so they knew what they were doing, it wasn't a noob mistake! I killed the master Cobra while the other two tried to pin me down, then went to work on the Cobra & the Viper waked out, deserting his buddy, so I let him go on 1% hull with the comms 'don't steal bounties' - hopefully the msg was passed on
