'My Fleet' Bug

In the Navigation menu the scroll down menu in 'My Fleet' does not work with anything other than a mouse.
If you enter the scroll down menu using a cursor (such as on a gamepad or HOTAS) it will scroll past the visible ships and 'off the screen' but the GUI will NOT scroll down so that the end user can see what ship they are scrolled over. The graphic element does not update to keep in step with the selection.
This leads to being unable to select a ship in your fleet without using a mouse.
This is not a problem in any other menu.
The scrolling function works properly in other menus such as 'My Bookmarks' etc.

This was reported as a new bug after update 15, not sure what's happened to the ticket....

Found one, I think, although I'm sure there was an earlier ticket too. Anyhoo, have added my confirmation to it.

No worries, it's in my own interest too. I remember spotting it on U15 patch day and it still bugs me whenever I use that list - I have a lazy sofa-based controller/Shield TV setup so anything involving grabbing and dragging is a complete pain. I used that list to find my little AX flotilla (which moves around - a combat ship, evac ship and Titan mats ship) and plot a route to wherever it was. These days I just use bookmarks.

Actually, if you keep pressing down, the cursor eventually invisibly reaches bottom and the visible section then starts scrolling down. If you get it to scroll to the ship you want then you can start pressing cursor up until the cursor reappears and you can select your ship. Not exactly nice, but sometimes easier than trying to grab'n'drag the scroll bar on a controller :)

Maybe it's just divine punishment for owning too many ships.

Once again another GUI bug.. unbelievable that the menus still have them. Display options doesn't support using a controller or HOTAS, only a mouse. You can move over into the drop down panel but cannot see any selection nor make a selection in it.

Since the split from consoles perhaps Frontier expect most of their Live user base (i.e. 100% PC) to be using Hotas/keyboard/mouse, so little bugs just affecting controllers may not be a priority?

I regularly encounter difficulties getting to some of the menus in the Galaxy Map, especially if I've already been in the map a while using it for something else. I can sometimes make it work by closing/reopening the map and then navigating straight to the thing I want. Nothing gamebreaking, just an annoyance. Can't cursor down planetary bios, for example :(

I haven't touched the display options for a long time, could test that tonight. Have you raised anything in the issue tracker for this?

That one has been in for a while. As I play in VR and navigate exclusively via HOSAS and don't use a mouse, this one has been annoying me since at least U15, if not 14. It was fine before that, I think.

I am beyond done with the issue tracker as it is a problem in itself and I am not a paid QA tester. If they want to fix it it's up to them to do their own testing, I count this thread as doing the highlighting for them.

It also doesn't work 100% ok with a HOTAS.. :)

Yes, I confirm the same problem and submitted to the ticket. I'm also wondering why it is still an issue after the ticket was posted 3 months ago.
Interestingly I would never of found it always using a mouse on the Galaxy Map. VR players I would say not so much...

Many thanks for your added help friend. The more that see it and contribute the better. I don't hold out any hope but it can't hurt!
