Engineers My kingdom for a chemical manipulator

- don't go for hauler, go for t9

- best source for me is: "seeking weapons"/"seeking goods"-POI in anarchies. basically scout all anarchies around, till you find one - have in mind they only show up closer than 1000 ls; they are around stations or planets with settlements - factions in war/boom that don't own a station spawn them (so galaxy map isn't helpfull).

- shoot all t9, beware of wings/escorts. when POI is cleared, fly out and back in for respawn. i make 2-3 chemical maipulators in 30 minutes through that.

- can be done with small ships, too - best in a wing of two. i farmed to nights ago with a fellow explorer, and got chemical manipulators for 5 FSD5 upgrades.

... you can also shoot out t9s powerplant, and cargo hatch and sell the battle weapons to the next dealer, before shooting him :)

.
Fairly often is one in how many? Fifty? A hundred? A thousand?
.
I have been out killing T6/T7/T9 for several hours, getting zero. Yes, it was mostly T6/T7, which people here claim they also drop them, as I ran into them more frequently than T9, but several hours and zero yield is far from "frequently" in my eyes. If anything the term "broken" comes to my mind.

1/3? They really aren't that rare from T9's i've got loads :/

I have a number of mechanical components, which drop from the very same type of ships, but not one cemical manipulator. The only ones I have are from missions.
.
Of course you can simply say "that's RNG, deal with it" or whatever. And indeed, I might go out and the next T6/79 I kill drops 25 of those chemical manipulators for me. Or I might continue killing them for 20 more hours without getting any. I personally say "screw this" and am about to say the same for the game itself. I love the base game, but this RNG mechanic is designed to frustrate and drive away players.
