My ship is lost

So I had a mission to sabotage a production at Ponomarenko's Drilling which is in Sol. After I arrived there, docked and quietly sneaked into the building I was caught by security and killed. After the re-spawn I found out that my favorite beautiful yellow Mamba is no longer in the list of my ships. It shows an icon that Ponomarenko's Drilling has a ship of mine but at the same time it says that they don't have any of my ships.

Is this working as intended? This is the first time I lost my ship and can't get it back.

Update: I got my Mamba back (thanks to the community for tips and advise)

My takeaways: do not dock to the settlements you can potentially die in — always land away and srv to it. The way to get the ship back is to dock to the station with shipyard, using any other ship, be sure to be in your ship when logging out. Log back in Horizon, the ship should be available for transport.

Surface stations like this don't have a docking facility or a shipyard, so if you get killed while on the ground your ship leaves the pad and goes into orbit around the planet, just as if you dismissed it while driving or walking around, it will then show an icon like this on the planet. As Meta says, just fly there via apex and recall it, it should be fine. You can't get it transported because it's not in a shipyard.

Agree, t kinda makes sense. However, I died when landed near the settlement before and was able to retrieve the ship no problem. I've filed this issue and it looks like I'm not the only one having this trouble in Odyssey.

I wonder if there is a difference between "landed near a settlement" and "docked at a settlement" with regards to retrieving ships though?

Are you sure it says the ship is our of range? Normally it's greyed out because you are in a location where recall is disabled (maybe you are hostile to the base) and you need to travel away from the base (or go to another on the same planet where you are not hostile).

have you used another of your ships since you lost yours?

If not, while on the said planet, try to log in horizon, maybe you'll just get back on board :eek:

Yep. I tried to run around the planet — no luck.

Yes. I have sacrificed the Eagle to see if I'll be able to reproduce. Same result.

I'll try to refund. I gave this game a second chance and a stupid glitch ate my favorite engineered ship I spend so much time together with. I was very disappointed before, but chose to close my eyes on flying rocks and dumb AI, pointless on-foot missions always involving brainless shooting, poor performance and weird lighting, planets and stations becoming dull and ugly. Now that I know I can lose other ships with no option to re-buy makes me sick.

There are issues filed on the Issue Tracker with all the same symptoms back in May-June and all of them are still "confirming". I don't see this being resolved and this is just too much of a chance to give.

PS I want to thank the community and admire your loyalty and patience. Hope one day F-dev will be able to really understand how lucky they are to have all of you with them

per meg of code, which almost any way you cut it means playable content FD is more expensive at release than a lot of the top leading games devs imo Rockstar Ubisoft etc

I would call them "cheap fuc-king basstards" and "fraudulent business" but it would be considered as harassment wouldn't it?

often it takes some new players over two hours to log so that it don't crash an work's properly too (free return time con imo)
don't get me wrong I love this game but all its baggage is beyond a joke tbh

tip always park ship 1.5km away from settlement pref behind line of sight cover and srv the rest of the way in
or dismiss to orbit pronto...………
just rem if you stole anything at all you are an enemy to that settlement and so is your ship srv etc or you carry e breach and are scanned whilst in possession therof etc
