My son desperately wants some toy Elite:Dangerous ships. Frontier, make this happen!

Yes, I remember Battle Tech. I also had the Mech Commander game. I guess I envisioned a 6 or 8 inch tall Atlas or King Crab with all the moving parts ... and maybe little rockets that shoot out of them. Even better would be an RC controlled version.

Die Cast.

Would buy in a heartbeat!

For those who think is just a matter of models, etc. It is rather a matter of quantity. No serious business would consider FD with its proposal if it is not in the order of the thousand, maybe 40k and up.

Even at MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), each model could end up costing $50-$60. Then they have to make sure they find the 40k people who would buy it at that price point....planet wide, not less...

400,000 players, of those, how many would be willing to buy a model? being conservative here, say 15%, that's 60,000. Taking Sidey, Cobra, Asp, Eagle as the more popular ones. Which one of those would single-handedly meet the 40K at $60 a piece??

....

All numbers guesstimate, but think this is what's killing this project....

The best thing to do is to make them in house. 3D printer.... They could sell premade and even airfix style kits printed to order. Lets just say a single 3D print costs $5 (Covering electric, man power, materials) They could advertise them on the website for $9.99 +Postage and as the orders roll in they print them off.

If you would want diecast kits then yes you would have to order from a factory that would cast them for you. Unless they have an extra moulding kit out the back in storage. < It could happen
