My SOTHIS report - Updated every hour (or not)

What you did was push Ceos and Sothis posts to the top of the forums for the best part of a week. I would say you have made them more popular by doing that. As any new player will see the names of these places then read up on them and their eyes will change to dollar signs....

I dont think this worked the way you wanted it to.

If players do not need money, UA bombers should have no trouble donating all of theirs.

How are we hurting the player base?

People do not need these systems. People do not need to make incredulous amounts of money. All thr moaning and whining has done I highlighted the greed and the idiocy of the player base in being unable to think for themselves.

Problem is that folks like you just don't get it.

It's all about motivation, frustration and success or the lack thereof.

Read again what I wrote, I told you why it hurts the player base. If you don't get it you should propably stay away from large scale fact creation.

I am not going to get involved in this stuff but I do have a constructive suggestion. Why not one of you with a group, create a fight club. But do it in the right way so it's a fair fight club. Then we can all join the group, meet in anarchy and watch the fights. Maybe some will be wing on wing and some grudge matches for single players. This could be a cool way to put all this effort into something more player friendly and you still get the buzz of a fight too. Maybe there can be a champinship for ships.

Look out for each other CMDs and let's have some fun :)

Yeah but the problem there is if they start it they can't tell anyone about it.

Why do people need to rush to the end game? I certainly didn't rush, and I'm sure that majority of players who were kickstarter backers, nor the game preview players did. If they can't handle the fact that this game takes time and effort to get anywhere who's problem is that? It's certainly not mine.

I didnt say players don't need money. What I'm saying is why do they need vast swathes of wealth without enjoying the rest of the game first. Learn to walk before they can run.

What seems to be totally alien to you but blitheringly obvious to anyone with a lick of sense, is that you don't get to dictate how others choose to play the game.

One of the main selling points of ED is that you can play however the hell you please, do whatever you want, take your time or hurry up as you see fit. You want to work your way up to a Cobra and keep running missions in the starter systems, go for it. You want to be a hauler, or a bounty hunter, or an explorer, you do that. You want to pirate, sure. You want to grind credits, fine.

Hell, if you want to UA bomb that's also fine. It's in the game, it's a deliberate mechanic, you can do that. What irks me is that your reasoning is that you've decided you're the arbiter of how the game *should* be played and you're going to put as much effort as possible into ensuring those who disagree with you don't have the same opportunity to play the way they choose as you do.

That, to me, is flat out antithetical to the entire ethos of the game. I don't understand your insistence on it. And despite repeated inquiries from multiple posters, you've never really provided any solid reasoning. I don't think you even know the answer.

Firstly, the minor point - its not 'What I'm saying' when you go on to ask a question, it should have been 'What I'm asking'.

And before you whinge about being picked up by someone I'd like to continue with the less trivial elements of this exercise in futility (as you're just going to ignore the following comments and continue prancing about on that high horse of yours).

I've mentioned in another thread that I (like many other players) have no issue with your actions but, its your attitude that rankles many, myself included.

I don't need or want to play the game how YOU want me to - that's my call.

I don't need or want your assumption that I haven't learnt 'how to run'. Unless I'm in Open playing in your instance, my skill/experience level has got nothing to do with you.

I'm not sure where and when you think you acquired the right to define how I enjoy this game - as far as I'm concerned, that right belongs solely to me. If its unclear, I DO NOT need YOUR guidance on what is or isn't enjoyment for me.

If I choose to leverage Ceos / Sothis for high Cr/Hr missions then I will - nothing to do with you, thanks for the interest but, no thanks.

If I decide to ship MA to counter the UA bombing, it will be my decision not because Nath Dixon wants me to or thinks that what a 'real' player would do.

I could go on with listing the issues I have with the reasoning / rationale you've spouted over recent days but I simply cannot be bothered. I'll get back to playing the game I bought for MY enjoyment in the manner I want to play it, happy for you to prance about on the high horse until you find another windmill to tilt at (excuse the mixed metaphors).

Damn, ninja'd

Actually, I do get to dictate. Like wise, you get to dictate my gameplay within the game. There doesn't actually need to be a reason behind doing anything in the game, just you lot seem to think that I must explain and I have tried, on repeatedly occasions to do so and offered a variety of reasons.

Anyway, I'm done with this merry-go-round.

Your holier than thou smugness is simply astounding.

Shocks none, the little dictator pokes his head above the parapet....

No Nathan, you've been offering all other players your twisted rationale when all you had to do was admit you did it for lulz. All your nonsense has done is alienate players who would have just said 'Meh, Ceos bombed' if you hadn't started your self-aggrandisement trip.

Anyway, I'm done with this merry-go-round.

If only that were true, the reality is that you'll pop out from under the bridge soon enough, you simply wont be able to stop yourself.

It might hurt. But it also makes other people fight back ingame to fix it by getting MAs to the station. Also they can do this to a community goal if they want. Devs are ok with it.

I got my Python yesterday by doing runs from Sothis, I guess I should thank everyone who talked about those places in the first place. Going from 200k per mission to 2 million felt great. And now I know there's other places like this too.

There is no end game...

The massive Imperial rank grind and the Cutter disagree with you. I am currently at Viscount and will probably never get a Cutter, but the Corvette and Cutter most definitely represent "endgame" ships that you can't really match with an Anaconda.
