My SOTHIS report - Updated every hour (or not)

We took the decision to admit defeat for now.

Delayed is more appropriate.

You and your diaper brigade are finished. Wait, no, I should be giving you all a pat on the back and a participation ribbon!
Great job! Keep up your endeavours however you see fit.
I am sure your UA bombings will result in ... something ... maybe ... if your targets haven't been immunized already.
Which targets? What CMDRs have dropped off some MAs to their favourite stations before your attack?
Who knows!
.
I have personally dropped off 2000 UAs to Ceos. I will not say how many, nor where, I have dropped off others. But let's just say your failure at Sothis resulted...
.
Did I drop enough, by myself (let alone others)? How many days, weeks, months of your UA bombing will tell the tale?
.
Personally, I would hope that you and your fellow compatriots would consider what is best in the long run. By that I mean do you change your focus onto MA sourcing and immunization of key bubble systems/stations from our ongoing potential threat, if there is in fact one to come? How do we even know that what we have done to counter your UA bombings is actually a good thing for the station(s)?
.
Your game of clubbing seals, your future allies, is now over. Recognize that.
.
The community answered your question. Man up. Be honourable.

Why do people need to rush to the end game?

It's not about the end game. Use your brain, don't distract.

I certainly didn't rush, and I'm sure that majority of players who were kickstarter backers, nor the game preview players did. If they can't handle the fact that this game takes time and effort to get anywhere who's problem is that? It's certainly not mine.

It's never your fault nor your problem, you're just "playing the game".

If I would earn 1 credit for every one of these posts I would be a rich man.

You screwed up and you're not willing to think about it, it's a shame.

I didnt say players don't need money. What I'm saying is why do they need vast swathes of wealth without enjoying the rest of the game first. Learn to walk before they can run.

You are forcing a play style on others.

I have to say it's been heartwarming to see the utter contempt and disdain people have rained down on petty tyrants and wannabe gatekeepers here, in the way that people have stood up to self-appointed arbiters of what constitutes the "right way" to play this game, and told them to take a long walk off the edge of a short pier.

It's an interesting question, I'll try to give an honest answer...

"you make hay when the sun is shining" in gameplay terms and an ED context once you have a few billion cr banked you become less time pressured and more chilled out to explore the less-productive features. You might then say why feel pressured in the first place? Well put simply the fear of the opportunity to 'make good hay' disappears.

Now arguably FDev could force progression through variety on players but they do not they have a really odd (arguably nasty) gameplay cap that tries to enforce time investment on players which then appears as grind. Sprint through the grind and you then get the freedom to do more of what you want when you want without hitting one of FDev's walls or caps.

I'm ok with players causing mischief with the BGS I think that is a good thing and really there should be more ways for that to play out imho. In a few more weeks I'll likely be looking at Open play, PvP and community stuff drop me a PM if you've got some idea's brewing I'm all for mixing things up a bit.

Actually, I do get to dictate. Like wise, you get to dictate my gameplay within the game. There doesn't actually need to be a reason behind doing anything in the game, just you lot seem to think that I must explain and I have tried, on repeatedly occasions to do so and offered a variety of reasons.

Anyway, I'm done with this merry-go-round.

Its been a long while since I have seen this level of attery in one person. How can one kid be so self centered and downright stupid at the same time? "I am done with this merry go round"........ Considering you and your peons are obstructing players and griefing them, that smacks of hypocrisy on a terminal scale (yes it IS griefing as it is obstructing players gameplay and stopping them completing missions)........

This kid needs a baseball bat enema.

Personally I've had my fun in many different aspects of the game be it grinding, farming, exploring, in combat, with the engineers and other aspects of the game.
Long range hauling, making vast amounts of miney through mission stacking or acquiring rank by utilizing the same type of gameplay, are they exploits or just a way a gamer wishes to play the game. Same goes for UA bombing or trying to counter act the effects by dropping MA's off at effected stations.
All of the above qualifies as gameplay and its variety in styles in my opinion.

That being said, trying to force people into playing the game certain way is a porogative reserved for the developers.
I trust that each and every gamer involved in the UA bombings has questioned their motives and stands behind any decision made thereafter.

We cannot control how people choose to play a game and I'm sure that if the powers that be feel that people are breaking regulations or contesting FairPlay they will step in resulting in a more direct course of action.

Forcing our playstyle? We merely delivered a few hundred UAs. Nobody is being forced into anything. As has been said repeatedly, there's plenty of other places to go.

Hahaha good lord, and we have hit peak stupid. Initially your stance was "Sothis and Ceos are unbalanced and they're runing the game and must be stopped". Now it's "dunno what the problem is, it's not like they were anything special"

So now by your own admission you and your buddies just wasted... What was it, two, three weeks of time in the game? And you're the one sitting here claiming other people are playing the game wrong.

Criticising us for ruining the game for others telling us we shouldn't be doing what we do is the utmost hypocrisy.

And here's the *key* point, that you seem to not grasp, anywhere along the line.

Your behaviour is anti-social. Your behaviour infringes on others enjoyment of the game. Your behaviour is childish, and immature. Your behaviour negatively impacts others.

You don't get to cry hypocrisy when people tell you that your behaviour is unacceptable. What you get is an opportunity to reflect on why so many people are all telling you the same thing, to go away and actually *think* about it, and realise that yes, *you* and your behaviour is the problem, not everyone else.

It's a growth opportunity.

Embrace it.

EDIT

Added some emphasis on the important bits, so that MAYBE the point starts to sink in, at long last......

Even though I am certainly not supportive of nathdixon92, comments regarding physical violence are unacceptable and maybe it's time for this thread to be closed.

Not to try and kick a hornets nest here but I have to ask if you support instant ship transfers? They certainly seem to intentionally make it easier to get anywhere.

I decided to crawl rather than walk, I reset my save and thought it would be better to start off gaining rep in a home base rather than trying to make credits just by itinerant trading.

This UA bombing stuff had something to do with it I guess, that's not to say I fully support the bombing. I would feel better if there was a RP reason for it but that's just me. But it it allowed in game so it's not an exploit.

On the other hand it seems there should be a significant system security response to a UA bombing. I know the UAs are be illegal cargo but since they cause so much damage a single scan should put system security on high alert.

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of delay on ship transfers, but it has to be less time than what it would had you brought it yourself otherwise there's no point in spending all those credits when you could have just got it yourself.
