mysterious fine from a remote system?

Hi,

As I'm trading in Elite Dangerous, about half an hour ago I got a 'fine' from a system I've never been to (LP 64-194), which is coincidentally a system I can't even travel to know with my Cobra MkIII, because of the jump limitations of the Cobra.

Did anyone experience this? What could be the cause of this fine? What are the consequences of not paying them? Should I really change my ship for a longer range one to be able to go there & pay the fine?

If you have never been there then it is almost certainly a bug.

I've had this Darkeye, definitely a bug. Like you it was a fine from a system I couldn't even travel to.

It cleared but I can't remember exactly how, either I died or there was an update.

I'm going to say not a bug. The fine will be from a bulletin board mission you've failed. (Unless you've never failed a mission of course :D).

Just because you pick up mission from a particular system, doesn't mean that's where the fine will be from if you fail.

If you can't get to the system in question to clear it, you can wait for the fine to become a bounty, then pay it off in any system.

interesting. does the amount to be payed get higher when it turns into a bounty?

Could be in his case, but in my case I've only been flying in and out of Azeban City for the last week and clocked up three 100cr bounties. Been using the situation to practice getting in without being noticed.
