Naitis system lockdown?

Right. People please don't feed the obvious troll. He represents the toxic part of this community - the part I wan nothing to do with.

You're very quick to attack others Shealm. No need to be agressive.

What I'm not sure about, is what sucked?

Why, if you got killed once, did you not go to group or solo to get to the station? Surely that would have been less stressful?

As for calling people trolls and toxic, you're the only one here that is having a go at others playing the game.

You misunderstand. I don't have a problem that they play the game. I don't have a problem with the fact that they want pvp.

I have a problem with the fact that they say "this system is under lockdown" and kill me without giving me even a chance to tell them that I CANNOT comply with their demands.
I wasn't even given a simple chance to tell them why I had to get to Ford. No.
"system is under lockdown"
and then on the forum "skimmerlivesmatter". I mean really? If you wanted to grief other people then why hide it?

Picking on Viper IIIs with FDLs is not my idea of fun, honestly.
And why didn't I go to group or solo? Because I wanted to outsmart them. Managed to do that actually, getting to the other station without them as much as noticing...

So much for the "lockdown".

Don't bother defending yourself to people like that. You call at behavior at behavior, and suddenly you're the at for calling it out. Did you say you had a problem with PvP? No. This is a strawman.

It's a form of concern trolling, and certain groups are very good at it.

Here I was happily bounty hunting in the Naitis system. Then I try to get back to Ford Dock to get my Asp back to go elsewhere and there they are:
A bunch of ats in fer-de-lances shooting everyone down and claiming that "this system is under lockdown".

Wait, what?
Who locked the system down?
Why?
And why do they pick on random Vipers just trying to make a living?

What is the purpose of such behavior other than to grief other players and bat them into submission and leaving the game?
Seriosuly, this is borked up.

It is partly down to their desire to grief, but also partly down to the lack of structure to the PvP game. Any attempt to develop it receives severe opposition from the anti-PvP crowd, who then use it;s lack of development to further advocate for it's removal. This cycle continues and feeds into itself. Don't give up on PvP. Find some comrades, and take the fight to them. However, don't forget that other modes ARE valid, and if you have a particular thing you want to do there and you are being prevented for no reason you personally appreciate, then just go solo for a bit.

I would go solo, but that would mean they won actually.
I don't have a habit of running away like a little girl whenever an obstacle presents itself, and going solo would be just that.
Instead I find... alternative solutions.

So PvP is only valid in a way that you define?
Lockdowns of systems have long been a way for PvP groups to enhance the game, the idea that every story in the game must be scripted by FD is really not what I backed the game for, I paid for a game where I could do whatever I feel like doing, with the danger of everybody else doing what they feel like doing.
I have been destroyed almost 100 times, and lost a LOT of money, it's only fun for me if it makes my heart rate speed up because I am really stressed about losing a f-ton of money. PvP gives me that thrill, and I am glad it is in the game.
I may have fought the code and slagged them off, but I have also said many times they were needed in the game. Groups come and go, but PvP is part of the game.
As you found, you can avoid blockades, wasn't that more fun than avoiding NPCs?

hobo w/ fragcannon here.
if i remember correctly we killed you 3 times, in two of them i told you that the system is in lockdown and asked emyymily to give you 30 seconds on comms. in which you used to tell me to off and a bunch of other things. so answer me this. how does telling me to off helps me understand you situation, and why would i even listen to some one that just talk to me?
protip: order your ship and dont tell people that are about to kill you to off.

with regards - head, small e- and all the other crap you said that doesnt realy help your situation.

So recently there was a CG that hit Top tier, the Walter goal maybe? Can;t remember. I noticed it took me about 12 trips in a T9 to get the Top 10 percent bonus. There is no way it would really have been worth the risk of dying, given the rebuy cost of the T9 and all the cargo, even if my odds of surviving a run were say, about 1 in 4. After 3 or 4 deaths, the whole operation would become a net loss for me. The only real way to achieve is to do what you are prepared to do in solo, to get to the tier you want. Newer players in smaller ships will ever hit the higher percentages, unless they want to do about 100 trips. All that aside, afterwards, I tend to get a smaller ship, say cobra or asp, then try some runs in Open. This way, I also get to experience the fun of smuggling. If Open had more traders in, it would be less of a problem, as the lion can;t catch all the gazelles. As it stands, it's a field full of lions hunting lone gazelles who pop in and have very low odds of survival. I enjoy smuggling past other players, some of the best emergent gameplay IMO, but it's not worth losing my T9 repeatedly to the same person when all they have to lose is a rebuy cost of about 300k.

Still, picking on random, novice Viper IIIs with no bounty on them and no cargo at all seems... counterproductive.
You don't get satisfaction from killing them as it's basically a free win.
You don't get any bounty.
You don't even get the bloody cargo...

And they don't even try to RP it through.
See - I don't mind getting killed. I don't mind blockades.
I mind senseless blockades, griefing and killing for nothing other than killing itself. See - they didn't say "system is on lockdown because of an investigation into skimmer raids in this region"
They didn't say "we're fighting against the Alliance and blockading this system to make a statement"
They didn't even say "yarr we're a bunch of psychos who just want to kill stuff - and you're stuff"

No.
They just said "jump out or ya ded" and killed me without giving a chance to explain that I simply couldn't comply with their demands.
It was terrorism pure and simple and should be treated as such - shame the game has no mechanisms to report terrorism to NPC authorities. Would be fun to see the entire Alliance navy barrel down on those four or five FDLs and blow them to hell.

[EDIT]
Hobo, at that point I was really, really annoyed.
The first two times you ignored me asking you to stop and just blew me up right away - the second time I didn't even try to run. You can see how that makes people angry.

I'm sorry, is being a girl somehow derogatory? or bad?

One of those players, no, two of those players that stopped you getting to Ford Station were girls.

Sorry for that. While being a girl is not bad or derogatory there is the stereotype of little girls having the penchant of running away from danger.

So are you denying just swearing at them? You say they did not give you the 30 seconds? Because if they did and the best you could come up with was "F Off", then I remain unsuprised you earned their attention in this manner. However, it is your word against theirs.. so I don;t really know what to think. The fact they are not here mining salt, and attempting to somehow defend their game, leads me to believe they may have been open to some dialogue.

this is where you are wrong
1. it is productive for our cause
2. my satisfaction is from conquering the syste.
3. you are right, im getting combat rank out of it.
4. im not after your cargo.

we are astablishing our RP as we speak.
this was not a sensless blockade. this is a conquest, in which you, and others in the stations was warned few times by me specificly and probably others.
we didnt just jump you, we warned you and you s* talked while i was being naice an patient with you and specificly told the others to give you the chance to jump out. i made your own decissions, dont look for sympathy from me after that.

I do not deny swearing at them. I do not deny being at some fault there, but still the first two times I got killed I wasn't given even that.

Some of the best fun I had was running blockades in a DBS, being a gazelle is as much fun as being a lion.

No need, really. Would you mind showing the kills where I asked you to stop shooting (while floating in place after having submitted to interdiction) and you didn't listen and just blew me out of the sky?
