Narrative summary articles in Galnet

I absolutely love all of the articles that are appearing in Galnet, and I love the way that the purpose of a lot of them is just to add a sense of depth and life to the galaxy. But I also know that some people struggle to follow them all and split the difference between the important narrative events and the rest. One thing that I thought was a great help to everyone over the last year has been the Azimuth Saga summary thread. It was good because it provided details at a quick glance of what was key to the narrative.

I started wondering whether something could be brought into Galnet with a bit more regularity just to help everyone, not only those who prefer a clear definition between narrative and background stories.

Just like the news would have a recap of the main stories in rl, how about a (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)* article in Galnet? Especially as we are going forwards with the story, if the team could summarise the key narrative beats of the week into a paragraph each that would be a great addition I reckon.

Oh yes, that would be amazing! A separate section in the Knowledge Base maybe so you didn't have to go hunting through Galnet, you had easy access to it.

When I made my suggestion for a Codex many years ago, a history of events was one of the areas I put forward. I guess a sector by sector checklist of planets was more important.

I mean there is a fair amount of history stuff in there, both lore and character. The ongoing story and narrative is noticeably absent though.

There's already lists of logs and tourist beacons we've discovered, so a Galnet summary could be added into there.

Obviously there's the issue of the majority of the log sections not workingor with missing data which would need to be sorted out first, but let's not go down that road here.

Back in the year after Beyond there were weekly summary articles. At the moment these would basically all read "people are still worried about the Thargoids" so monthly and with more of a focus on the overall changes rather than just summarising the week's Galnet articles with a sentence each might be better right now, but agreed on bringing them back if possible.

Iirc, last time I looked these were available under "play media" or something, the last tab on the right-hand panel. But haven't paid much attention to it and not in-game now to check if I'm mixing up something or whether it has changed, it's been an update or two since then.
