personally I can't see the point in ever terraforming mars unless some way to protect the new atmosphere from the fate of being stripped away by the solar winds again. Far better to save resources and build domed or underground cities.

Nice quote but it does not really answer what is the point if it is going to be a doomed project. Why not use the resources on Mars to make a sustainable habitat vs. flushing all the resources into space which is basically what terraforming would do unless they can be protected by a magnetic field.

Interesting video. I tend to think we could start by just getting off this planet again before major considerations of whether to or not terraform anything.
