Need a New Federation Base of Operations

Am looking for a new place to stage out of. My criteria:

- Federation high security system
- Multiple Federation sub-factions in system
- Orbital near the star (under 200ls would be perfect)
- Decent shipyard available.
- Decent outfitting available. (Looking at FAS outfitting specifically)
- Black market
- Multiple RES at different levels
- Landable planets/moons in system

Any suggs?

TZ Arietis might be what you're looking for.
-Multiple RES
-Lots of landable planets with stations on them( even the city size ones )
-A good shipyard and a lot of outfitting options in one of its biggest stations
-It's less than 3 jumps from SOL

Yeah, it's 1 jump from Sol...which tbf, is < 3 I suppose

There goes the neighbourhood! This was my first home system 2+ yrs ago, but the riff-raff began to move in & reduced the property values, hence I relocated! Oh & I defected to the Empire too :D

NB - IIRC, it does not sell the FAS!

You want the moon on a stick!

TZ Aretis was my first ever home system when I started playing and it does meet pretty much all your criteria. Snyder Enterprise, which is where you'd want to base yourself, is about 850 LS from the star but it's hardly a trek.

As well as the system itself, there are about 10 high tech systems within 20 LY so it's easy enough to equip ships in the vicinity and if you fancy a change from hitting res sites, PSPF-LF 2 is only about 10 LY away and has the compromised nav beacon at which I made pretty much all of my first 50m credits courtesy of the old 'kill pirates' missions. It's also conveniently situated for access to Sol, Sirius and the other systems from which we spread across the galaxy.

Thanks for the TZ Aretis tip. Will look at that in depth tonight. Spent some time on Inara and came up with these systems as possibilities as well.

Shkaplerov Ring | LP 580-33
Herbert Dock | WOLF 906
Blalock Terminal | KUSHEN
Acaba Dock | LHS 2429
Veach Gateway | GWAELOD

I spent some time early on at Wolf 906; Herbert Dock isn't bad. But I then moved to Gende, because I saw the light and changed factions. At shinrarta now though. ;)

if you have the sol permit, sol is amazing!

alternatively check out toolfa.

i was based for some time in tau ceti, ortiz moreno city. doesn't meet any of your criterias, but is deep in federal space and a palm tree station very close to entry.

It is really, really, weird, but despite a permit since premium beta i have not once visited Sol. I guess i am subconsciously afraid to be disappointed because i expect something special.
What makes Sol great? Maybe i relocate. I am now at Rhea doing tourism stuff, but i am also looking for a second home in Fed space.

handcrafted bodies, geysers and fumaroles, really busy stations, with very profitable insystem trades, a lot offactions, always in one state or the other, very different station designs ...

Like Knightshark, I've never been to Sol. Whole point of the game for me was getting away from Earth. :)

I didn't want a place that was crowded with players. Looking over my shoulder all the time is counter-productive. Will pop into Sol in the near future. May as well be a tourist.

Guess my Cmdr will pay the "old world" a visit then.

Quite a bit of player traffic there though, which may be good or bad, depending how you look at it.

Blalock Terminal > Kushen

This was my home for over a year.

A well stocked port, with all the modules in all the sizes.

Its a very cosy little system. Just the one large station and one outpost huddled very close to the red dwarf star.

Blalock itself is so close to its planet that you enter planetary landing mode just approaching the station in SC.

I left because I wanted to live where there is a capital ship dock. So I could roleplay more in-depth around the Fed Navy.

So now i'm in Evans Port > Parutis system. A core system, with a Farragut parked outside the letterbox at all times.

Agreed. Awesome place that is.
