I'm trying to find selenium and mercury for an engineer. Went to EDDB and searched planets with those materials but the planets either had no minerals at all or had minerals but no selenium or mercuty.
Question - is there another way other than surface mining to get them and is there another website I can use to search for planets with these minerals? EDDB is fantastic but in this case their information appears to be inaccurate.
To find selenium, look for planets with volcanism and with selenium listed as materials
To top up on selenium faster use
edtools.cc
For example, around Sol, using the above link you can find this
So go that Body (A 3 b in LP 811-17) with a ship equipped with DSS and SRV, scan the planet, then land in Geo sites and pick up materials, once you clear a site, move to the next
The above planet will have 58% to get Selenium in Crystalline Fragments in Geo sites, and then a good chance (more than 50%) to get Tin and the top material - Polonium, you can trade down to get Mercury
For easy getting of all other top tier raw materials, you need a ship with a jump range of 40 ly, fuel scoop and srv, and then read this thread
How to fill your boots with Raw Mats using Crystalline Shards Some of us have discovered a new form of materials gathering that can, with a little effort, be used to gather every material needed to compeletely fill all of your raw materials bins. I have decided to share that knowlege here with...
