Horizons Need some help.....

I was trying to fly around the planet like I've seen in some vids but,as I came out of Glide it seemed as though my Mk IV wouldn't move fast enough to explore the planet. After coming out of glide it seemed the only option I had was to use vertical thrusters, lower my gear, and land. So how do I fly, at low level, at a decent speed? Also, had a problem getting back into my ship. The Board Ship button was reded out but seemed to resolve it's self after opening and closing all the Ui pnls and messing with all my controls....Maybe some of you beta testers could help me out with your vast store of knowledge......I know...I'm such a noob.

Your ship won't be any faster near the surface of a planet than it is in normal space. Planet exploration will take a very long time if you do it near the surface. instead, use Orbital Cruise to find where you want to go, then enter Glide. You can get a decent orbital speed by keeping the nose in the blue zone on your HUD.

If you want to go on the other side of the planet quickly you'll need to enter orbital cruise again, just point up 90° and engage your FSD.
