Nerf the Anaconda

Nerf all jump ranges back to 1.0 release (with later released ships back to their original beta jump ranges)

Make traveling in the game fun and entertaining since this game is 75% getting from one place to another.

Problem solved.

edit: as for maneuverability

I'd love for them to re-balance large ships to behave like large ships and be useless as dogfighters since we have ship launched fighters now.

The only caveat to that is that they need to implement an escort mechanic for players to utilize to secure themselves against wings.

There in lies the rub.

The Anaconda is OP, there is no denying that.

But if there was a balance pass on all ships, does the Anaconda becomes the base line, given the unwillingness to bring it in line.

Internal consistency with ships, their mass, MLFs, etc etc, so that ships have their own strengths and weaknesses and flavours whilst keeping the modularity and flexibility that you can generally use any ship for any task if you are after the absolute optimum.

So so easy for me to post on this forum, so much more difficult for the Devs to actually achieve.

You can't be internally consistent as long as the game developers are unwilling to correct the gameplay that is forcing them to make the ships not consistent. Travel is boring.

Curious as to what aspect(s) of the Cutter you think need trimming?

Don't get me wrong it's a hugely powerful ship but a full battle Cutter runs around a billion credits plus a load of engineering time if you want to fully trick it out, without even mentioning the rank requirement to buy it to begin with. It's hardly trivial.

As for trading it's going to lose the title of highest capacity trader to the T-9 when 3.0 drops; not by much and it will obviously still be a great trade ship but it's not going to be way out in front of anything else like it is now. The Cutter is much more survivable than a T-9 but a speedy trader is going to cost you 500m+ (or 800m+ if you want to armour it) whereas a top-spec trader T-9 costs less than half that.

I've owned a Cutter for a while now and I hardly ever fly it, I just can't get along with it as an everyday ship.

Anyway if I had to guess I'd say shield strength maybe? :D

It's the combination of everything, but yes, godly shields get annoying after a while, and with 3.0 they will be even more powerful. But besides that, it can mass lock anything in the game, outruns every other ship of it's class, it's even faster than some mediums.

Don't get me wrong though, I understand that it's a top tier ship and getting one, outfit it and engineer is a massive task and it should reward the effort put in it, but sometimes it feels just too much.

A few weeks ago there was a Cutter ganking people on Obsidian Orbital and when we tried to stop it he would just tank fire from 2 medium ships while killing Asps and T6 and when his shields dropped to 1 and 1/2 ring, shield bank on his way to the station to quickly recover shields, dock, and launch again. Yes, our fault for not having gear for big game, but... A very frustrating experience lol.

OP, why not just buff corvettes jumprange? Then all will be balanced again, more or less or equally square ...

Ahh... you are one of those "I want everyone to play the game the way I do" types of people...

Sorry. But no... a big NO.

You play the game the way you want, and I play the game the way I want? OK?

I'm not telling people how to play it at all. Humans can disagree on things and that's fine. If you'd read some of my responses then you wouldn't need to respond like this.

I'm going to request this thread is closed, not because I'm bothered whether a ship is nerfed/buffed. Just because people can't read and have conversation properly.

There's been some good points from a select few and it has brought some decent conversation and comments, both sides have given valid points. However I really can't be bothered with this ape type, that just can't have a civil conversation or even debate anything really. No offer of constructive feedback at all.

I knew the minute I made this thread how it would go, sad really. I'm not asking for a nerf (title maybe miss leading and I apologise) or buff, I just thought the conversation could be had about a ship that so many have an opinion about in a civil way. God was I wrong. o7
