Hardware & Technical Network Display - An Idea

I have been reading the threads as they come up with great interest - especially the dual monitor one.

Got me thinking.... Would the possibility of being able to use an iPad or similar tablet/laptop across a network be a viable option?

Not a new concept by any means. MS Flightsim has been doing this for years now... Run your cockpit gauges, maps, GPS on a seperate computer/tablet via your LAN.

An alternative method to the dual screen solution.

Just another idea to throw into the pot

Yes, something like SmartGlass for the Xbox which allows a separate screen on another PC, phone or tablet. For example in Forza Horizons you can have a full working map with GPS.

It probably wouldn't work too well for Elite, but I used to use VNC to connect my Android Phone to my Laptop to keep my trading going in EVE when I was not at home.
Probably be ok for just autopiloting around but no way for fighting.

wow, this looks really classy! I've had my Thrustmaster Cougar since 2002, but this looks way better for any Elite type of game.

Just as well, as it's totally pointless for MWO at the moment as the joystick support is terrible. Also, it doesn't yet exist.

Yea the artemis looks posh
A Thrustmaster Warthog with an usb-display between throttle and stick could substidude it.
If SC and Elite suport the Warthog i buy it for sure.
But this year i have to build a new PC first, still using a Core2Duo 3.0 GHZ with 4 GB RAM and WinXP Pro 32.
There wasn´t any cool PC games worth to update the hardware.
But thank to David and Chris this will change soon :)
I recently bought Win7 64 to avoid Win8 and it is waiting in the bookshelf.
