New (and experienced) players: "A time for giving" Community Goal! Now with extra tea and biscuits :)

So this is probably a stupid noob question... but I think it stands to reason that I'd be a stupid noob anyway. ;) Does anybody know how I get/find/etc my new ship, or how to check my play time to see if I was actually eligible? Currently scared to log in. ;)

free ships in previous giveaways would appear on the galaxy map as a small ship icon somewhere in occupied space. As soon as you 'own' a ship you get to see it in the galaxy map. Good luck

I am actually a bit worried.

I mean there's a window for playtime to determine if you're a "noob" and thus entitled to a free ship.

So what if you were in that window on CG start but not end?

Or you were in the window at CG end but not at the point that Frontier manually added the ships.

I think I know how this is going to pan out. =p

The Antares CG isn't very financially appealing after the silly levels this one got to.
I'm not complaining about the 10m I got but it seems excessive for two runs!

I spoke to a Commander on TeamSpeak yesterday that got into the Top 5% in this CG and he did it on his own without using the Hutton Truckers method of using in game mechanics and playing in Wings to help each other out.

He used a Asp Explorer kitted out for long range jumps. D rated equipment (apart from FSD) and a cargo rack. So for those lone wolf players it can still be done.

As with all the CGs what is the key factor is how much time you have available to commit to the game/CG. Maybe we ask Frontier to limit the maximum number of hours we are allowed to play each to week .... I know my wife would like that ;-)

I did the same - uh, with the Asp I mean, not the asking Frontier to limit time played for the sake of my wife part ;)

I used my 33.5Ly Exploration Asp and hauled 20T at a time, each round trip taking half an hour. Basically I just devoted all my usual Elite time to the goal instead of anything else.

I don't normally do CGs actually, but this one seemed simple and straightforward for a long distance hauler, so I figured I'd have a go, and found myself about 117,000,000cr richer at the end of it, once I'd added the rare item profits to my top 5% payout.

And all solo. Mind you, I wasn't totally alone...I did have Radio Sidewinder playing all the time to keep me company through the long light years of travel! :D

Well I too did make top 5% all by myself, save for precisely 18t contributed by the Frogs :) just me and my red T6, back and forth for a week. Remember, You Can Do It!

I see a lot of posts on this forum and think "another cmdr with only one brain cell".
.
But reading this one, that one brain cell must have been blowen up, isn't it.......
.
Goodluck (for sure) and fly safe.
