New DLC sounds good

Ooh I like the prospect of the new content, any word on when we’ll see the in game models?

I think if this is done well it’ll be another great step in the right direction, just one question though guys are you writing off the idea of addin the fan favourites from Jpog? Cos I would say for the vast majority of fans they’re as iconic as the T-Rex and Spinosaurus.

Thanks frontier, I do look forward to a repl from yourselves :)

If it's just three more hybrids I'm out. Last thing I need is more dinosaurs, I can't even fit the ones we already have in my park. The trailer seemed to suggest now areas to build in, but if they come in the form of additional maps that doesn't really help, it'll just mean some more separate parks, not a proper sized single park.
Especially if this is paid DLC, I'll pass.

The dlc isn't bad but I wish they made the Indominus camouflage gene free..... because it appears that it is part of the dlc.

Fair point, I just don’t get why they’re shying away from the Jpog cult faves, and from little placeable things to spruce your park up, as beautiful as the game is, it’s ugly to look at a park with no benches, bins or lamps etc and yes I know certain paths have the features I’ve just said but said paths also take up extra room on an already limited map

Maybe they already had this dlc planned out? I really don't know. But hopefully they do have a update that adds those features.

Tbf though I have a sneaking suspicion that they may just add scenery items in with the dlc, they said there was more but they wanted us to find it when we get it... I dunno, not like I have a shortage of stuff to get excited for Red Dead: online will be out soon, warframe Fortuna is out soon haha then JWE secrets of dr Wu I am actually quite excited I dunno why... cos I’m still thinking £12 is a bit on the expensive side, but as much as I’ve gone about saying how awful the game was when it came out originally... i only needed to vent haha and every time something new has come out I’ve gone back to playing JWE

But I do want the cult faves from Jpog I’m desperate for an Acrocanthosaurus, Carcarodontosaurus, Oranosaurus, Albertosaurus, and with troodon getting some lime light.... Dryosaurus and the Homalecephele could make a return.... is also love to have an Iguanadon

Well I hope people have fun with this, but I'm just not keen. Let me know when a proper sized Isla Nublar map is around lol

There's two regular dinosaurs too. Troodon and Olorotitan.

just gonna copy paste my previous comment about this... since i'm going to work now.

Hmmm my initial hype has died down.

And though new content is always appreciated (and we don't know the full content of this DLC / update YET), I am afraid I'll have to voice out some discontent as well. We already have a lot of dinosaurs. Plus this post didn't mention anything new in regards to terrain tools, decorations, new buildings and enclosures. Heck there isn't even a bigger island. I assume that new area on Muerta isn't that big. And even if it is since it's a career island, so the sandbox settings won't apply here. Hm?

But we'll see in the following days. Like the Dev livestream.....I am still hopeful.

I think it's disappointing, and a little overpriced.

Whilst new content is always welcome, this still does absolutely nothing to address the biggest complaints about the game - that being ,the lack of customisation, decoration, environmental assests and the shallow park management systems. Every single park still looks exactly the same. Same grass, same trees, same buildings, same backgrounds - people are desperate for some variety as catalogued in the ideas/requests forum.

Whilst I think the game already has a pretty comprehensive roster of dinosaurs, new addtions will always be welcome but Hybrids are one the most divisive aspects of the whole franchise and it's already been confirmed they're being scrapped for the next film. Personally speaking I have absolutely no interest in them.

The update features some good stuff, but still doesn't address any of the aforementioned variety issues.

I certainly won't be rushing to purchase the DLC. (I am pretty engrossed in RDR2 at the moment, tbf)

I couldn’t agree more with the first part of your post, I also agree mostly with the second part, I feel the only hybrid with any justification being here... aside the Irex and IRaptor is the stegoceratops as it’s mentioned in the film... and possibly at a push the Dilo/Pachy hybrid but the other too? I’m not fond of at all the suropod thing would just be better as a normal species ie saltosaurus... and your right with the third part no issues are addressed with the patch and yeah RDR2! :D

Loving the two new dino's. I was hoping for a few more, but beggars can't be choosers. I love the new maps, and would love to be able to play them casually as well *hint* *hint*. I love the new research and comfort mods. I do appreciate the introduction of the cannon hybrids (at least I think they are), plus the camo skin. I may use them, I may not, but it will certainly make people happy. Thank you Frontier for adding more content to this wonderful game that I hope to have more reasons to play. Also, thank you for listening to the community. I acknowledge that hybrids are wanted by some people, and I really appreciate that you're listening to the whole comunity.

Thanks for the exciting 1.5 update, and the new content. Looking forward to it.

Population Gene

Oh yea, I'm most excited for the new population gene. Finally, I can have a pack of Allosaurus' and a breeding pair of T. rex's. This is gonne be great!

I think the Stegoceratops is ridiculous, but that's not Frontiers fault, I'm sure being canon made it Universal's first choice. The other two honestly look pretty badass, and if you really dislike hybrids you could always headcanon them into, like, Saltasaurus and Concavenator or something - it'd be roughly as inaccurate as the original movie's Dilophosaurus. :D

Copy from original post: (heavily modified to not sound to confrontational because I do acknowledge that everyone has their own opinion for what they want in the game)

First reaction:

More hybrid dinosaurs...? ... really...? what the-...poop! I mean "real dinosaurs are wow enough!"

Second reaction:

Well... at least these are the cannon ones right? We can get on to the real dinosaurs. I mean like the half-a-dozen sauropods that are like the anklydocus?

Third reaction:

Hey... new maps!!! Hoorah!! New Campaign stuff... more story... that could be really cool. I wonder how Dr. Wu will be portrayed. Less as a mad man, and more as am over ambitious visionary? Also, a few new dinos and gene mechanics. That's pretty cool!

Final Thoughts:

Here’s to hoping the new maps and the old ones can be played casually (challenge mode for all the maps)
