LOL

is this the best they can do? Not only is it expensive but it forces yet more fake frankenstein monsters into the game...and more species for already overly small maps with nothing else.
The update is nice enough for free...but its a shame that everything its doing should of been there at the start.
Its also a shame that this update and DLC is skipping over a great number of the things people want.

People want decorative items. we want to be able to build unique islands and we dont want to have to deal with terriable small maps with limited space. And the new dino species? what...2 real ones that are kinda meh to begin with (no JPOG dino species, no other better species just a tiny carnivore and another god for saken hadrosaur that will probably have really annoying herd requirments) and 3 hybrids (the stegatops should of been there from the start so we have a haerbivore hyrbid and a carnivore one) and a discounted Saltosaurus?

Frontier...im still not reinstalling your game...and iw ont be paying 12 quid for you to stick your middle finger up at me. 6O quid was paid and this game is still no where near up to par yet. Give us some decorations. Give us some bigger islands...for FREE!...then i might wanna buy your DLC.

Until then...no thanks

This DLC has most likely been in development for some time. Notice how the patches up until now featured changes to code and minor animation fixes. The animators and artists haven't really contributed much to the game since launch and its very likely because it was being worked on as part of this DLC and the 1.5 patch which more heavily use the assets they create. While I personally would have also preferred some extensive work to the terrain tools, its still progress. So lets consider the fact that this DLC was probably already in the pipeline for months, so I advise a bit more patience albeit the communication from Frontier being so slow has been a huge problem with expectations.

I also don't see them prioritizing map sizing so much at the moment. Patch 1.5 demonstrates they have been listening and working on additions we've requested. I know we all do it sometimes, but its crazy how many things people request. There are a limited number of hours in the day to get things done and some people want different things. Believe it or not I actually have seen people who really like the hybrids and wanted more; moreover, I have seen people complaining that the patches haven't added any new dinosaurs either. I will also give you my opinion on the missing JPOG dinosaurs, they really aren't that great. We already have Giga and how different are Acrocanthosaurus or Carchcaradontosaurus going to be really and those are the two most requested JPOG dinosaurs by far. Moreover, Troodons were actually a highly requested addition as well, don't discount their inclusion in this upcoming DLC.

The rest of your comment is completely unnecessary and unproductive.

Yes hybrids are the things that gripe most people, but i think they are stepping in the right direction, new content is always good, and this game definitely needs more content it needs more depth, I agree with you that they seem out of touch with the fan base, we keep asking for particular dinos especialy cult favourites from Jpog, Oranosaurus, Cararodontosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Albertosaurus, I go as far as to say now Troodon has been added Dryosaurus and Homalecephele could too, Iguanadon should be in the game too.

i’ll also say this again, the Ankylodocus is a redundant hybrid, they should of added Saltosaurus, it’s one of the most requested dinos and we get a hybrid that sucks... because it’s nothing special it’s just a Saltosaurus with the Hybrid tag. I think they could of picked any other pair of dinos to hybridise and come up with a much better one....

Hybrids aint the right way btw. If they were then people would say they love them, and the future jurassic world movies would also show them. Which they have stopped doing due to oversaturation and people got bored instantly with them. So the direction is in fact wrong.

And being out of touch with their entire fanbase is the largest mistake they could ever do, and releasing 3 hybrids which 1 was planned for the movie is a mistake. They added the Troodon which was requested fairly much, but seeing hybrids take priority over actual dinosaurs that existed is just .

If it was 1 hybrid and 4 actual dinosaurs i'd consider it. But im not gonna use my wallet at all for hybrids. Its the most ridiculous ive ever seen come out of a dinosaur game and its a bloody dissapointment.

Honestly, at this point I feel like it's hardcore Jurassic fans that are out of touch. Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Evolution all made more money than god despite being generally hated by Jurassic's fanbase. *shrug* I'm guessing the focus groups say something completely different than the hardcore fans.

Not saying you're wrong, btw. I'm okay with hybrids but would have preferred a DLC with more real dinosaurs and decorations too. I'm just saying the Jurassic fanbase is as cranky as the Star Wars fanbase these days.

1000% behind you my friend!

Too much love has been given to the AI fraction! It feels like the decoration fraction has been left out completely. I myself from the AI fraction, I'm excited with the DLC, even then I feel embarrassed in this situation. I really feel the pain from you guys. Hopefully there is still something there or the next update better be addressing the issues properly.

As far as I concern, better terrain tools and nature decorations should really be in the base game. On the other hand, detailed park decorations, buildings, attractions deserved to be behind the paid wall.

Yes I do agree as well that more (not all) sandbox settings should be applied on the career islands once we finished/5-starring them. After playing sandbox, I really don’t feel like I want to go back to the career islands thinking of the chore work of incubating death Dinos (should be automated I suggest) and refilling feeders. Harsh weather and diseases are fine on the other end.

hey man. thanks. actually i have no qualms about hybrids, and more are being added into this patch. like what i said i will reserve judgment after this goes live. i just hope that at least decorations (or other forms of customization) could have been added. or at least a bigger island (sandbox). or more diverse terrain tools. even if the management aspect is set aside.. then whatever hybrid was added would have been welcomed.

but as you said not all factions can be catered with, and i am fine with that. this patch shows F.Dev is listening to the voices of their community. so maybe next patch these other changes might come up.. until then.

PS. when i was at work i was just thinking that even after this goes live, and i go to sandbox, how different will it be compared to the one i have now? sure dino AI might be better. comfort gene altercations might make diverse social / ecological groups possible. who knows? but aesthetic wise urgh it just gonna look the same as with my current park. lol (unless surprises are added in the patch yet revealed.) :)

The free patch softened the blow, but I was let down by the DLC announcement. I'm not keen on hybrids, I think more animals are a low priority and I was really hoping for some terrain tools and decorations.

Same for me. I'm not really interested in the DLC even though the new Building Upgrades sound nice.

The nice thing is two small carnivores, the one type we don't have many of and unless things are different for them (Like if the Spinoraptor is incompatible with everything), then they can fit in some of the other large carnivore pens easily enough.

Well one small carnivore and one medium, because Spinoraptor will be roughly the sice of Majungasaurus/ Metriacanthosaurus

Just as a bit of speculation, I'm wondering if they're saving a lot of the work for Aquatic/Flying Reptiles for around the year anniversary as a major expansion for the game with several smaller DLC things along the lines of this one and some smaller free ones on a more regular basis until then

I’m very excited for this update and can’t wait to see all the new stuff. I really really hope that the next patch or even dlc offers a larger map and more build/terrain options. Still can’t place a single damn tree where I want.

Hi everyone,

There's a lot of cool new things coming to Jurassic World Evolution in the future, as our focus is on the current 1.5 update and Secrets of Dr. Wu DLC. The goal is to release content that has something for everyone, so for example some players might not like the idea of Hybrids, but hopefully they'll find enjoyment in the new Missions or new Genes. Likewise some players are looking forward to trying out the Hybrids, but might not be as fussed about the new Dinosaur AI.

We're really excited about the new DLC, there's around 8-10 hours of extra content in there along with the new Hybrid Dinosaurs, more Genes to experiment with, an even more interesting storyline, and more. We've really enjoyed developing it and playing it through, and hopefully you will too.
