That's still a very long time.

But then, I'm not a serious player who worries about sensible stuff!
Think the record requirement should be to carry 1t of whatever cargo to Hutton. That requires a complete ship all the way to the end and dock. Redeployment removes any physical cargo so would remove those trying to use exploits to claim the record
Compared to going to the corner shop yes, compared to my first trip to Hutton in a Sidewinder without topping up the tanks at Alpha Centauri causing me to have to jump out to another system after over an hour and start over it is incredible.

Official speedrun times should not rely on the hutton helper.
Why not? Hutton Orbital Truckers have been officiating the Hutton Run for years. Purpose an alternative by all means but that's the only leaderboard right now.
Does it really need an explanation as to why not?
What happens when someone makes a record run but is not recognised because they don't use a thing the cliqué use?
Same thing that happens when someone breaks a world record in reality and no one is there to officiate it. The record doesn't get recorded.
What happens when 20 runners come up with 20 different times and also 20 different ways to prove it? 20 factorial argument threads, that's what. That is why, in the immortal words of 21st C philospher Harry Hill, you gotta have a system.
One could argue that submitting journal files to a peer review process would mean you didn't need to include specific software on your system, but then the approvals moderators would presumably be "a clique."

One could also argue that user submitted journal files are not tamperproof.
Let's say that right now I had a video of me doing a sub-1 hour run to Hutton Orbital (for the record, I don't).
There would be those who would state it's not recognised because I didn't use x y or z software to record the run.
When you allow only one group to declare what is or isn't accepted, you get tyranny.
It's as if people have learned nothing.

As Hutton Orbital Truckers operate Hutton Orbital and are the adjudicating authority and arbiter of the Hutton Run official timekeeping yes the Hutton Helper is the official method used to track the Hutton Run.
We don't however currently operate the 36 Ophiuchi run, despite operating the system and station relevant to that long supercruise. Though we could. Like a half marathon.... Or the great North Run.
There are indeed people who can do the 'arrive at Alpha Centauri and get to the pad at Hutton' without running it and yes, for that description they might even be fastest.
However that isn't the Hutton Run. The Hutton Run is 'as measured by the Hutton helper' by definition.
Same as some person who runs the length of marathon in their free time. It doesn't count as an official marathon result though if not undertaken as part of an accredited competition or run. It doesn't detract from their achievement. That isn't tyrrany either.
It should also be noted that the Hutton helper can be operated by simply authorising the site to log the data not even by installing some software (which, actually is an EDMC plugin if people want).

Does Hutton Orbital Truckers have a rule for frame rates since it can effect the speed of your run?
