New Image on FB!

Its funny to how they talk about the "smaller" feature in the facebook text. And showing of the bigger feature in a "oops" way :D

The first picture was about the color wheel, and oh yes we have custom music.

this time its look at the height markers!, and oh, look at that train in the distance.

:D Yes, I was thinking the same thing!

But that way it's even more fun to be surprised like that! When I looked at the picture I was like: "Cool, height markers - that's pretty neat... AAAAH! MINE TRAIN, MINE TRAIN" - too bad I shouted that directly into my fiancée's ear. Needless to say, she wasn't as excited as she should have been :D

Mine trains are not made on wooden structures guys. In fact, in most of them don have wooden planks whatsoever or the wooden planks are faux wooden planks.

You can look for some google images of real mine trains at theme parks if you dont believe me.
Wooden structures, if present, are often done just as decoration and dont really help support the coaster.

I think that this is a good example:

Height markers are going to help big time. I sometimes get carried away and then the scale doesn't seem to be realistic. RCT allowed you to toggle height tags and I couldn't see why they were missed this time. Well done guys. [up]

Thanks Parkmaker, both are great way to show what we are talking about

They move pretty fast for a low to the ground coaster, kinda surprised by that

cant wait to build this good 'ol classic in PC

The 'Seven Dwarfs' vid above got me thinking how lovely it would be if we had actual Cartoon characters in the game [heart]

Has this ever been discussed? Would the cost to license just be too much? Would Walt Disney/Warner Bros (looney tunes) even allow this? Frontier, did you even enquire/consider?

Argh!! Im playing too much Planet coaster these days. Im looking at the picture and scrolling my mousewheel to zoom in [mad]

I do that even at work sometimes... and try edge scrolling on a webbrowser... is that a sign for addiction??

And I really love the height markers :) That will help soooo much with the coaster building!

LOL - I do this when watching others play...I keep trying to swing the view around or zoom in.

I really do hope the coaster friction gets fixed, trying to recreate real life rides is really difficult at the moment.

You'll probably find that the friction isn't bad now that we have height markers. We had no reference before so our accurate recreations we built will probably be proved to be not as tall as we thought we'd built them, resulting in not enough speed and momentum to feel like the real rides.

The devs researched the friction very thoroughly and all sorts of factors affect different coaster types. They showed us a video during our visit that shows how accurate the friction is in Planet Coaster. In fact it proved they could have increased it a bit more than they did.

Is it really low to the ground, or did they build the theming to give that illusion?

Big Thunder Mountain in Disney is definitely not close to the ground. They build a coaster like any other coaster and then iron construction around it. Then this is all nicely hidden and ppl think there is a mountain and real rocks. You can probably walk inside the whole attraction.

I believe you Nemmie, but I still find the friction too much. I'm hoping your right about the height markers, proving we need to build higher, but I would still like to have an option for less friction (as in RCT3). Let me pay money to super grease the wheels! [big grin]
