New ISP, Instanced with Different CMDRs?

Warning - possibly a thinly veiled brag ;)

After finally ditching Sky (had the full package - line, broadband, TV) I decided to upgrade to fibre. So my question is; having played ED for the last couple of years with a connection that ran at 10 down, 1.5 up with a ping of 40ish ms I've now got one with 75 down, 20 up with 18ms ping. Will I be instanced with different CMDRs who have similar connections?

I don't have a lot of CMDRs on my friends list, but it would be pretty gutting if I was never to 'see' them again due to instancing issues. Any ideas anyone?

You've done the same switch I did, went to bt fibre (80 down/20 up).

I still see the same cmdrs I always did, only difference is, if the instance is laggy, you know it's not you're fault :)

I think it depends more on the packet loss rather than purely bandwidth. Ping is a consideration too, but 40 > 18ms is, while an impressive improvement, unlikely to result in you being instanced with new CMDRs, especially as your friends list plays an important role. Opening up the bandwidth monitor (Ctrl+b) shows that the bandwidth demands of this game are minimal, even negligible for anyone with a proper broadband connection - 20-30KBps in a busy instance (~300kbps). If you're dropping packets, that's when the lag sets in. The reduction in ping will be due to both your new equipment and the removal of the local telephone exchange equipment from the equation.
