Hardware & Technical New Joystick

Just looking at pictures of the Logitech unit, it will be huge. The CH stick is among the sticks designed for bears (a common defect among (semi-)replica sticks mimicking units that are supposed to be used with gloves), and I find using the second trigger pretty uncomfortable to the point where that button was just completely useless before I got MonsterTech mounts to lower the stick below the table surface. The situation is similar with the throttle which is really wide and you'll get some good finger stretching exercise.

Frankly, if the stick was 10–20% smaller it'd be 100% better.
Okay, thanks for the info.

Now I think I need to find one of those sticks somewhere I can try my hands on it before committing, as I am not that hairy don't have enormous paws. :)

VKB has switchable grips and there is a Kosmosima grip on the way made for space sims, also you can put warthog grip on it's base....not to mention quality and precision.
here is the link, take a look:

1. I totally endorse the CH products line of controllers. My FS yoke and Pro Pedals are well over 15 years old and work as good as new. My Pro Throttle and Fighterstick are just about perfect for ED (and flight sims of course) - all the buttons, hats and axes you will ever need (if you include the pedals for yaw - I have buttons assigned for that too).

2. If buying in the UK watch out as there is a lot of profiteering going on. Fighterstick actually sold by amazon uk costs £118 but on their site at the moment is only available from other sellers at over £144 - similar story with the Pro Throttle.

3. If you can get it from the USA site (amazon dot com) the Fighterstick is under $116 (yes USD) and the throttle under $123 - so you can see what a rip-off the "other sellers" are working.

4. I tried the VBK Defender Cobra M5 joystick which I have seen people rave about and found it horrible. Way too sensitive, lousy triggers and buttons and the rubberised grip is too skinny.

5. I found the Warthog joystick just too tall (too high above the desk) and too heavy (stiff) for my purposes. Yes it feels like the real-deal but it is just too massive for use on-desk, the fighterstick has all of the buttons that the Warthog does except for two - the pinky trigger lever (it does have a pinky button) and the press button on the side HAT (the mitre one). The Warthog throttle is more of a waste of time as it's switch functionality doesn't fit well with E D in most cases and it is just blinking HUGE.

6. Whichever way you go, check on prices - there are huge markups on things listed on amazon co uk by "other sellers" - Warthog sticks at nearly £400 and even Hotas-X selling at over £80 for example.

Thx u all.

CH and Saitek were the ones I easily have found, and pretty similar priced(Brazil, all overpriced). My doubt be in regard of the sensitivity/resolution of the Joy. But imagine it cant be as bad as the full deadzone of my HotasX.

And yes, I love buttons, as more the merrier.

I've got little hands and I find the Fighterstick no problem at all.

I bought mine from Amazon for £97 last May - it was the Mac version (which is the same as the PC version)- but just checked and its no longer available.

Yeh, I checked the prices of Amazon USA & my local vendors. When you add VAT+postage+tariffs to get the item shipped here, the total price goes up by 50%. Local vendor pretty much converts that figure to € from $, the conversion rate being their profit (unless they get the shipping etc. cheaper.)

You may have overlooked VAT. US storefronts are usually not showing any taxes. USD/EUR conversion is currently at ~0.95, so not much doing there.

CH availability and pricing will be interesting in the near future, considering that some of their parts like the pedals are apparently Hecho en México :D
