That's because they can radiate heat to the air surronding these systems. There isn't lots of air in space.

But in space you use radiation by radiating heat energy away as light (infrared), if you can transfer heat from cpu to outside the chase to radiator without fluids or pumps. You can do same way with space ship (Cool stuff inside the space craft and transfer heat) and turn it from heat energy to light outside the ship. Our space ship already have radiators in real life and in elite. No air is needed to cool stuff down.

Voted yes, because I totally hate the SCB-nerf that requires you to use them with heat sinks, wasting half of the 4 utility slots available in most medium-sized ships.

This.

I mean, is it to much to ask a ship manufacturer to know how well a ship runs cool?
As I said before, adding this module and making the heat mechanics more visible are not mutually exclusive options. I don't understand why anyone would think that. In fact, implementing this suggestion would make the heat mechanics more visible, so really it's a win-win. I've added this apparently common concern to the OP.

As the module is currently proposed, it would take quite a few of them to make it such that you don't need heatsinks to fire and SCB, and you'd likely still take a little heat-induced module damage.

I liked the idea from the moment I read it, but kept my comment until now because... concealed free bump!

Apologies if it's been asked OP, but have you delved deeper into the effects this would have on weapons?

My concern is how this may make some weapons completely over powered. For example, like combining your ACR's with HS's and G5-EW-PA's?

( Still learning, so I may have missed the ball with that question, sorry. lol )
