New Paintjobs

This confirms my impression of frontier development. They are artists and able to create beautiful games. But like many artists they don't know how to make money.

I often ask myself if these things would've been artistically acceptable for the original design team. It does look like a different crowd is in charge now that doesn't share nor respect the original art style of the game. Thankfully these silly outfits are optional but to me it does feel like a waste of dev time when other areas are lacking decent options.

You’re assuming these don’t sell well.

They are far from my taste but we don’t have the sale figures, for all we know they’re super popular. Just look at all the hideous stuff that sells in things like Fortnite.

We’d all like to think the general player population is sophisticated, but if you pay any attention to system chats you’ll realise that, despite most of the player base being over 40, they’re mostly oversized children.

Yes, it is an assumption. But I would not compare ED and Fortnite players, even if we can call some ED players "oversized children", both games aim at a different target group. Plus, I'm quite confident, that I'm not too far off.

Well, what we do know is that revenue from the Arx store is dwarfed by revenue from new game copies being sold still.

That's good, because there is no reason to buy ARX if you don't have a game.

And could you show me that numbers? Is it about Frontiers games at all or exactly about Elite Dangerous copies and ARX only in 2024?
