New Patch Inbound 50% reduction to ship transfers!

So what do you CMDR's think about the change

I'm thrilled!

Wish it had come sooner I just wasted 54,000,000 (written in full for effect) moving my Asp X from Colonia to the bubble! (was really 97,000,000 but I took into account the 50%)

=====

- Reduced module and ship transfer distance costs by 50%

Colonia to bubble? I'd have just bought a new Asp

50% is too much reduction for big combat ships, fine for small ships, but things like the covert should have sky high costs,to stop it becoming OP.

I don't understand arguments like this. They don't seem to contain much thought at all.

The ship with the currently highest jump range in the game is the Anaconda. In terms of combat capability it's damn near equal the Fed Corvette. So how can cheaper ship transfers, somehow make the Corvette overpowered (I assume you mean by negating it's jump range weaknesses) when a ship of similar combat capability has the highest jump range in the game and still isn't considered overpowered???

Imho, ship jump ranges in ED need a buff across the board for me. If ED wants us to explore more, and enjoy the time we put into the game, then jump ranges of all ships should be buffed by a good 10-20 Lys. I know this won't be a popular opinion here, but I think a change like this would drastically improve player's enjoyment of the game, whilst making more the existing ships infinitely more useful.

also, we should all make sure to incorporate the fact that all these ships are dependent upon pilot skill and the fact that each ship has their own strengths and weaknesses. A small/medium ship could easily take out a large with relative ease.

It won't btw, large ships were never OP, as they require the most player input to actually aim and learn. Sure, they maybe OP (as a perceived thought) in a 1v1, but thats more dependent on the circumstances and variables when an FDL can do circles around a corvette anyways when in the hands of a proper pilot.

Payouts for certain jobs, exploration, powerplay, mission archetypes, logistics, crime and punishment also needs major work.

I agree that the prices were too high, but 50% is a bit too far IMHO. 25-30% would be perfect balance. Again, IMHO.

for close distances maybe. 100 ly is not so much to ask for ship transfer.

ship transfer realizes its full meaning when the ship is actually distant. and for that it was waaaay too expensive judging from reports.

I am glad. I dont have to use a hauler taxi anymore. I am also glad I don't have to fly the Corvette or Python everywhere. I can now transfer the best ship for the job.

All I can say about the "I wish I knew before I spent my money" players:

Early adopters of new technology usually pay extra for using it first.

Sry, couldn't resist.
