Thanks for the info.
I've started playing solo and done a couple of easy missions.
What happens if get killed or die somehow ?
Do I have to start all over again ? or do I restart off from my home station (eg. Chamberlin's Rest) ?
If you are unable to or don’t wish to pay that cost you can take the offer of a free Sidewinder and start from the location stated on the rebuy screen. You will not have lost any progress towards ranks but any changes you made to the ship you lost will be gone so not a true start over. You pay the rebuy cost (5% or something from a total ship & modules price), and you start from the last station you were before you died.
You can actually do a full restart by finding the delete save option which will put you right back to the beginning or so I am told.
Exit back to the main menu and try again, sometimes the mouse or controller will click twice when you Continue and the "Open" menu item is right behind the Continue button in the main menu.I was playing Solo last night, but when I loaded game this evening to continue it threw me into open play.
Any idea what is happening ? I only want to play Solo from where I left off last evening.
I logged in yesterday evening and game updated. After the update I started my Solo Play where I left off the previous evening, no problem.
But when I was enroute to my next mission I was told that I had an Interdiction and asked me for my response. I had nothing on my radar so I ignored it and just kept travelling to my destination. About the same time I also received a firewall alert from my system security asking if I wanted to block or allow it (Elite Dangerous exe).
Is there a reason why I got an Interdiction warning ? I thought that only occurred in Open Play. I'm concerned that maybe someone was trying to hijack my game.
I Would be obliged for some thoughts on these issues.
....Should they not have shown up on my radar ?
Hmm... an Interdiction usually doesn't ask for a response, it just happens and you'll need to either actively evade it or throttle to zero to submit. Simply to continue to your target is a sure way, even with an NPC interdiction, to lose and get pulled into a fight. If you could take and post a screenshot the next time something like that happens, it would be helpful. Thanks for putting me straight on interdiction of NPCs. Should they not have shown up on my radar ?
i know you've been here a lot longer than i have , but umm i absolutely have indeed gotten NPC interdictions quite often who "ask for response" ( in local chat ) .Hmm... an Interdiction usually doesn't ask for a response,
But that sort of chatter happens after the interdiction and is part of the pirate repertoire you get at RES sights and elsewhere in normal space.i know you've been here a lot longer than i have , but umm i absolutely have indeed gotten NPC interdictions quite often who "ask for response" ( in local chat ) .
Typically it's just color/RP type chatter , like "you have 18 seconds to hand over your Tritium" or whatever. Of course, my "response" is just hardpoints-->destroy them.
But it def. happens, from time to time. And i believe that's what the @Lachie OP is referencing.
yep i hear ya and tbh i've seen the NPC chatter both before & afterwards. But that sort of chatter happens after the interdiction and is part of the pirate repertoire you get at RES sights and elsewhere in normal space.
Some do chat prior to the interdiction but that is usually on the lines of at last I’ve found you.
I suspect that you got an alert from your mission giver about an incoming enemy. It's a common wrinkle in missions, where up to four NPCs can be sent to stop you from completing the task. You get a credit bonus for killing them in the mission reward. You will also gain bounties issued by the controlling faction in the system where you kill them.I logged in yesterday evening and game updated. Adjustment for inflationThat's a lot better than the original release, money-wise - 1,000 credits - but not significantly different in terms of gameplay.
When the interdiction is part of a mission it is probable that if you get pulled out of cruise and then depart in that way that the attacker will follow and do it again, this can get annoying.I've read all you pilot's info and I see now that's just what to expect now and then.
Couple of mistakes I made led me to start a fresh game.
I was on my second mission of three and was using my FSD to travel to my destination. Suddenly my ship system told me of an interdiction, with red text warning at top of my hud and was pulled out of FSD.
I just used full throttle until FSD cooldown was complete, then engaged FSD again and went on my merry way.
There will come a time that I'll stay and fight when I'm more confident.
Much obliged to you all for inputs.
