New red-orange dot approaching the bubble at 0.8ly per minute-- Thargoid mothership?

Now past Oochorrs UF-J c11-0, and inbound the bubble

I have to say that i'm starting to like the possibilities offered by 4.0
<<checks notes on clipboard>> Oh, that's been slated for total obliteration in 4 weeks. Were you not advised?
Oh, well, they should have notified you last Thursday. Sorry for the mess.

Based off observations from OOCHORRS YL-H C12-0 (which is a way off and roughly equal distance to the two stars) of its progress between the two systems it travelled 1/175th of the distance in 20 minutes, which is 0.33LY, so observed speed on that one measurement is around 0.98Ly/Hour

Another measurement another 20 minutes later agrees with this speed. The two stars are slightly different distances from the observation point which means its moving slightly faster than observed. So a rough figure of 1Ly/Hour seems pretty reasonable.

And that means another ~57 hours before it reaches OOCHORRS CS-F C13-0 if current velocity is maintained.

Did that a lot. Tickled the 4 motherships until they all had their 8 Thargons out, then killed them and collected 64t of alien items. Good money, though a bit pointless because I of course had a maxed out Cobra at that point anyway.
I remember that on BBC and omega versions

About to login
Or try hehe
I'm way out over 6.5kly away won't see it!!
My Carrier is 6100LY out. I got in my 56LY DBX on Tuesday evening and arrived in Oochorrs UF-J c11-0 late last night/early this morning after approximately 150 jumps...and I turned in about 7 mil in explo data, at The Oracle in Delphi, just from honking along the way...

This will continue in a straight line, I wonder what it clashes with in 7 weeks

When update 14 arrives, this maybe the thing fdev said they have never attempted before and is massive

So this object is going to float around for the next few months without any interactuin whatsoever.
I'm bored of it already.
I'm just the opposite - this is the most fun I've had in Elite since Spring, and I can't even see the thing myself because it's currently Odyssey-only. But I'm glued to this thread like the first season of LOST, and next rainy day I'll probably head back to the Bubble just so I can be in the neighborhood.

Out of all the things in Odyssey, I never thought it would be a slow-moving 2D sprite that would tempt me the most to buy it. Thankfully H4 is on the way.
