Coaster Crazy New Rollercoaster Game: question to staff.

Nice looking game and playable on the average computer... do not go hand in hand. lol... you have to develop games that will last - not what will be out dated in less than a year or two.

When the game is softer more people to buy, but look at the example of RCT1 or RCT2.:)

I think the game should be designed for powerful computers with high-end graphics, but with the option to lower the graphics level for computers with slower processors.

That being said, the most important thing to me is that the game is coded efficiently so that it has high fps and low lag.

Exactly, and that the game be realistic please, not another Thrillville

Forgive me for being a little outdated, but I'd much prefer an average looking game that is centred around the actual game play, rather than how it looks. There are so many games out there that look amazing but are just awful to play.

For me, RCT2 had it spot on for the times it was released in.. It was real enough to be believable, had enough content to make it versatile, addictive enough to keep you coming back and simple enough that computers could run a massive park and not have too much trouble.

Yes, it's lovely to have a 3D environment where you can ride the rides, change the view, have a multitude of different people... But I'd much rather be able to build a massive park, make it real looking / acting and enjoy that than have a really shiny turd that I can't come back to because my PC (although very high end in spec) laughs at it when you load it.

I know I'm no genius, programmer or marketer, but I'd much rather a real acting game than a good looking one. Concentrate on content & getting that right, not design. Just my 2 pence worth... :)

Sorry to disappoint but theres many high end graphical games that also deliver (granted they are massive budgets compared to Frontier) but people just won't buy if it looks worse than previous games... this is just how it is people like things to look good :p

Specially when RCT ended up being all about making awesome looking parks more than "how much profit you make". I think most people lived on sandbox.

What I would really like to see in a new coaster game would be more ease in building by having many different pre-made buildings, stations, etc to choose from. I actually liked RCT3 when it came out and still do but even though I have a very high end computer I haven't wanted to play it much lately because with all the designing and building from scratch takes up so much time that I guess I started thinking it was just to much like work making a sandbox park and I just want to have fun playing a game. Premade buildings and partial slap-together buildings and stations etc. would simplify the game tremendously for sandbox builders therefore making it more fun and less labor intense. I think it has been mentioned before in previous threads but just wanted to throw my opinion in the hat. Thanks and a shout out to the creative crew at Frontier for working on a new game and thank you Michael for not giving up on creating a new coaster game when just about everyone else has.

Hopefully this will get you guys excited for the next roller coaster game

@frontierdev Any update on the rollercoaster game you briefly touched on a while back? Can we expect to see anything soon?

Frontier ‏@frontierdev
@InaudibleWhispa yes, coaster game info should appear soon now

That was posted on Frontier's Twitter page on July 13th...which was a little less than a month ago...so we should expect to hear something within the next couple weeks

Hmm well soon is very vague.... if its any thing like battlefield's use of the word during the development of BF3 .. soon = 1 year lol

I would imagine they will announce it within the next few weeks with the release date being near or around Christmas...to me that would make the most sense

Frontier has been working on this roller coaster game for a while now...since last May I believe...so I would be surprised if we didnt hear something about it this year...and I would think Christmas would be a great time to release a PC game because its the holidays but thats just my opinion

Whilst it makes sense i think thats not much time to hype it up... most games are announced a year or more before release. To give maximum time to tease fans and build up hype, plus its a new franchise ... unlike RCT which name is known they need time for word to spread.
