New ship: Vulture

Two large hardpoints would be nice, defining the role as a fighter against bigger ships.
Too bad the choice on large weapons is... not great.

Edit: different fighters for different purposes...i'd like that.
I could imagine one with five or six small hardpoints, speciallized for smaller crafts... a viper killer, with problems against bigger ships ;)

I'm kinda happy that I currently only have one huge hard point.

If I don't try to overuse it, it works really well.

too bad the muzzle velocity of cannons is a bit of a joke compared even to modern era anti tank guns... :(

In high caliber (class 3+) cannons, it's more in line with the velocity of rockets, I would say. They are exclusively for big, slow moving targets, or small, static targets.

I hope it will have enough energy to supply those big guns properly, they don't really help if You are runnig hot immediately
As Ive seen so far 1 class 5 Slot (Shield) 1 cass 4 (power distrib or frameshift) rest class 2 or 1

The main important thing on a fighter is the power, anyone more info about?

You have to remember recoil is an issue for any guns not sat firmly on solid ground. The A-10 Warthog's nose gun is so strong it can actually push the plane backwards if it fires long enough. High velocity, large calibre cannons mounted off-centre on comparatively small ships would knock them off course or make them tumble.

If the Vulture is a proper rank up from the Viper, I'm in.

Power management just makes it both interesting and prevents the ship being essentially godmode. For instance, shield cells in a Viper are generally a bad idea after 1.1, IMO. The fact that the shield strength given the weight of the ship is top class already made it in many ways practically immune to attack by anything but railguns and plasma accelerators if you had an SCB fitted. It was a good decision to make SCBs involve some serious compromises on that ship. I love my Viper, but it was getting boring - basically click-to-win in practically every encounter. I hope the Vulture follows the same philosophy.

  • Muzzle velocity: 1,170 to 780 m/s (3,836 to 2,557 ft/s)

Considerably faster than the Cannons we have in game.

I'll fly it regardless, I bet the cockpit is going to be sweet as the Eagle's.

Also I think it is the bottom left from OP's pic, it has the same details on its wings as the Eagle does.

If the bottom left ship is the vulture, that is quite sexy. :) I have ground to about four or five million credits trading to get this thing as soon as it comes out. It's been driving me crazy, fingers crossed it's in 1.2 .
