New ships: 2025

- A large fighter, that is not one of the best multi-role (like the Corvette), should therefore have many military only internals. Should not outclass medium fighters, but an alternative to them.

- some type of very special ship for upcoming new gameplay*

(* personally I like the idea of a new non human antogonist/challenge)

I called the end of August to be sure not to be mistaken, but creating the topic I still thought about future ships. I don't even have any thoughts on it.
Good question, what other roles are we missing? Or at least haven't seen a new ship for recently.

A new aquatic mammal named passenger ship? That mechanic could also do with reinvigorating.

Perhaps when the roadmap says "ship" they might be slightly misleading us, perhaps we will see the Ship Launched Fighters revamped and toughened up?

I've got:

Q3: Moray Starboat Mk 2
Saud Kruger will have made a string of acquisitions in an aim to diversify their range, and the first new craft to come out of their shipyard since will be a reimagined Moray Starboat. The new Starboat is tiny – barely larger than an Adder – and not useful either for cargo hauling or combat. However, it has a combination of speed, shield strength, handling and jump range that make it a fantastic exobiologist's ship, general surface lander and bubble runabout, and is unique in supporting 2 additional crew in such a small ship. They'd also handle extremely well in atmospheric flight in an upcoming 'gas giant atmosphere' feature and make competitive canyon runners, and squeezing a Class 4 internal would allow it to deploy two SRVs. Saud Kruger would also aggressively market the Starboat to Apex Interstellar as the faster, more comfortable alternative to being shuttled about by Hauler.

Alongside this release, Core Dynamics would refresh the Federal Dropship and Federal Gunship to be SCO-optimised. With the invention of the FSD in 3297, 14 years ago, most ships in production today were rushed out to support the new technology, with many corners cut and optimisations missed. Now increasingly out-competed by ships purpose built not just for FSD but for SCO, Core Dynamics is first to start a 'catch-up' process. Existing ships are now classified as Federal Dropship (3300) and Federal Gunship (3301) and the refreshed versions offer optimisations above and beyond SCO. Keen to make an impression with their new and improved dropship, Federal factions now use Federal Dropships as landing ships in surface conflict zones.

Q4: Alliance Centurion
Aware that the Type-10 Defender has seen mixed success against the Thargoid threat, Lakon has spent the last few years working on a dedicated light warship for the Alliance. The Centurion finally breaks up the hegemony of the 'Big 3', being faster than the Corvette, more agile than the Cutter and overall focused on combat superiority against all threats to the Alliance – Thargoid or human.

Alongside this release, Lakon release a refreshed and improved version of the Asp Scout, finally having a purpose, and Core Dynamics finish their refresh with a new Federal Assault Ship.

Beyond...
Rumours are that Saud Kruger are working on a redesign of another, much larger legacy ship they purchased the rights to, and are also hard at work bringing their Orca and Beluga models into the 3310s. Core Dynamics are rumoured to be working to revive their Constrictor as a medium multi-role taking aim at the Asp Explorer market. Most curiously of all, there are rumours that Ram Tah is working with shadowy organisations on the development of a new hybrid Guardian vessel – this one not an SLF...

I want a battleship. The Corvette II?

Superior to anything other than another battleship. Capable of carrying a Python II (Admirals Runabout) and a small ship for planetary landings. Has NPC crewmates capable of flying and defending the ship. Lots of medium and large turrets. No smalls. Main gun(s) are battleship killers.

Or....I can just go back to playing X4 and not worry about it.... :ROFLMAO:

A true, dedicated miner...
Actually, this is a good idea...
I only mine for relaxation, so no vested interest.

...but a capacious hold, good armour / shield multiplier and a bunch of C1/2 hardpoints for mining tools and another 3 or 4 larger for defence. With PWA as a built-in feature, saving utility slots for reinforcement.

Good agility and, so as to not make it too attractive for other purposes, a bit slow...

Panther Clipper will probably fill a lot of those wishes.

I would buy the panther clipper today if it came out.
By end of August dunno if I will even remember about it.
Im about to put the game on pause, until next big thing. Hauling fatigue set in. The thought of hauling 270 times for my orbis makes we want to vomit
