New Ships When?

If they want to complete the set from the original then they still need the Boa, the Bushmaster, and possibly some others.

EDIT: Gecko!!!!
Depends on which version of Elite you had - I had the Acorn Electron version :) I'm not an authority on which-ships-were-in-which-version but I imagine that the Acorn Electron version was probably among the smallest in terms of numbers of ships.

Did someone say Gecko!!?
And what about the Moray Star Boat?!

make it so!

I was hoping for a huge cargo hauler that would use a medium ship as a shuttle for the stations. Something like the Panther cutter with a medium pad to use something like a python as a cargo shuttle for us hard core traders.

BTW the last elite had nearly 50 ship. Hint.Hint.
Albeit with a lot less detail and not having to model the cockpit of every one of them (and hopefully more than just the cockpit at some point but I'm not holding my breath). And some of those weren't well designed - the Interplanetary Shuttle, which couldn't refuel, or whichever small fighter it was that often attacked you but didn't seem to have any room left to fit weapons (Osprey I think - you could fit weapons to it but the NPCs never did).

Original Elite ships still missing Asp Mk II (the Explorer's based on it and has the same shape but it's a very different role - wasn't in the Frontier games either), Boa, Cobra Mk I (no loss there!), Fer-de-Lance - yeah, I know it's in but the ED version looks like it's supposed to be the Mamba, not the FDL), Gecko, Krait (although we've got the new versions), Moray, Orbit Shuttle - would be nice just for NPC traffic between station and planet, Transporter (but we've plenty of other Lakon boxes), Viper (been superseded), and Worm (could be interesting, described as highly customisable, although I don't know what useful role could be made for it).

That incoming sleek military Asp looks quite nice imo ! Would be happy to see even the Cobra MKIII finished inside and out with full damage model, allowing EVA during Odyssey.

Looking forward to piloting a spacesuit !

I'd like to see escape pods.

With the new style of gameplay Odyssey promises, they'd be a perfect fit. On ship death, instead of the rebuy screen you transition to your pod and get a panel showing your rebuy / insurance options. Once selected, NPC rescue spawns in and scoops you, then deposits you at the nearest station. Pods would have to be non-destructable / scoopable by players, but you can handwave that as an extension of Pilot Federation permit restrictions.

Might look a bit weird if you're on the far edge of nowhere but that's still what's assumed to be happening anyway.

Many in this post have pointed out that there are already close to 40 vessels available to us. No mistake - that's a lot of ships. However, the game has been around for 5 years or so, and many of us have put thousands upon thousands of hours into the game; even 40 ships can feel like old-hat after that amount of time. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and I'd very openly welcome more ships (as long as I like them). Luckily, Space-Legs and lightly-atmo'd planets will keep us entertained for a little while, but new hardware will, I think, need to come soon to keep us fully satisfied.
