At the current rate of play the Elite: Dangerous community will have charted the galaxy's 400 billion star systems in 23,417 years. We'll be finished by the year 25,432, so here's hoping 255th century computers are PC compatible."

23,417 years, even with the mapping project going off. I also wonder if this is the number of systems honked or fully scanned.

So for all those saying they can't find "unexplored" systems you arn't trying hard enough!

There is a thread on this already here. But as for "exploration," not everyone goes as far nor in as sideways of ways. You have to admit though that there is a lot tagged anywhere near civilized space, on well beaten paths, and near "tourist" destinations.

Presently you really only start not seeing tagged systems on a regular basis about a third of the distance to Sgr A from Sol in uninteresting (as it were) directions.

But yes, there is a lot of the "same old" out there that isn't tagged yet.
