New Surface Bases

I finally got back to this and listened to the audio log collection.

I am almost sure that the one voice on there is Flossy's voice. Please confirm.

While it's possible there could be some Guardian exiles still around, it's more likely that it's the Constructors behind this. They're responsible for wiping the Guardians out, and are likely why COL 70 and/or CONE are permit locked. Hard to hide borgified space without locking it away from prying eyes. Thargoid activity has been detected out towards the California nebula, while Guardian space borders COL 70. Lastly, Merope is of major significance to the Thargoids and that mystery still remains a mystery. I have a feeling something is hidden in the system and needs to be found similar to how Generation Ships are discovered. We have a point of reference to fly towards. Barnard's Loop.

My prediction is that at some point in the not too distant future, Humans and Thargoids will have to put aside differences and work together to defeat the Constructors.

An there lovely new navy made up of human/guardian hybrid ships!

Ok, according to this Galnet news FD seems to settle the BGS of the "Far God" sect. And as always, the whole thing is not completely conclusive because it is stated that no evidence of contact with the Thargoids could be surfaced. The Thargoids did found their bases, at least, because if you visit the sites, they turn up and scan everything. Well...ok, case closed.

"Sect of the Far God" -- It isn't over yet!

In a recent posting (No. 30) I analysed the whole topic of the "Far God Sect" thoroughly. According to the logs and accompanying Galnet texts, it seemed likely that there might be something more to come in the future. So it is now according to a brandnew Galnet news. FD has not put to rest this BGS. It still remains exciting because the Exotheologian is cited as if there might exist more of these outposts - somewhere.

To add this, some confirmation is needed through today's GalNet Posting(Dec 8, 3304):

Journalist Gethin Okonkwo has discussed the abandoned Far God cult outposts in the Etain system:

“During my months undercover as a Far God worshipper, I heard only whispered rumours about secret outposts. So the existence of two such settlements, on Etain 4a and 4c, proves that much remained hidden from me.”

“The personal logs recovered from the outposts illustrate how the faith attracted people from varied backgrounds. I was astonished to hear the voice of a man with whom I once eagerly discussed the Far God’s arrival, never realising that he was a Federal agent whose devotion was as fake as my own.”

“The book I am co-writing with Dr Alfred Ulyanov will reveal much about the Far God religion, but it’s clear that many of its mysteries are yet to be uncovered.”

Guess I'll wait till 3.3 lands before I hunt for any more surface bases.

Just a thought but in one of the logs, a woman says "ill be looking down on you from witch space", anyone thought about checking out the Witch Head Nebula ?

I suggested several times that this BGS is not done yet. It is too tempting for FD because it might lead to revelations about an ongoing contact - whatever this may look like - between humans and the Thargoids.
;)

There are Barnacles in the Witch Head Nebula. But also in the California Nebula.

But she specifically says "witch space" so with barnacles being in Witch Head, and the Far God cult being based around the Thargoids and the exstinction of humanity the pieces fit nicely together. Its a lot of planets and systems to go through but I would assume we would find other Far God bases and Outposts out there.

Anybody up for a small excursion to the Witch Head with me?

Gunna try look up some of the locations for barnacles in Witch Head and try narrow down what systems would be plausable to save time.

List of known Barnacle Locations (Systems) in Witch Head:

Witch Head Sector DL-Y D17
Witch Head Sector FB-X C1-11
Witch Head Sector GW-W C1-4
Witch Head Sector HW-W C1-7
Witch Head Sector HW-W C1-8
Witch Head Sector HW-W C1-9
Witch Head Sector LC-V C2-10

Witch space is the common term for the space you travel through while jumping between systems. In other words, it's hyperspace.

Some have theorized that the Thargoids live and travel predominately in which space. The Far God worshipers believe the Thargoids will come and take them away in preparation for the Far God's arrival. Thus when the Thargoids and/or the Far God destroy humanity, their worshipers believe they will be watching the destruction (apparently with glee based on the logs) from witch space.

Yeah, I dont think Witchspace has anything to do with the Witch Head Nebula.

It's just another name for hyperspace, because we dont comprehend the stuff we see when traveling through it. Like the old saylors telling tales of monsters under the sea.
