New texture work in 2.1?

Just found this amazing concept work for the Vulture and I can't stop thinking how cool the details on the ship are, compared to the current Vulture texture. Just take a look at the details on the prongs at the bow (the bits which are also visible from the cockpit, and which are so bland right now):

Do you believe we'll be seeing some textures being reworked for one of the next updates in this season? Probably not, but there's no harm in hoping.
 
where are the hardpoints on that vulture???

or is this the Vulture 2.0?

Thats a mighty fine looking Vulture, some gorgeous detail in it!

I do not expect the vulure to be changed (looking at past work tho, it may be introduced as a whole new ship, a mk2 or something) but i truly hope that all the ships which use cut and paste internals from existing ships get some reskin love.

so the keelback, viper IV, asp scout........ I have not flown the cobra IV yet so dunno if that is a cut and paste from the mark 3?

Since release we only got downgraded gfx and details in all areas (e.g asteroid fields and even the station mailslot stopped showing the internal view until u are very close to it)
2.1 was mentioned to have improvements in lighting and asteroid belts (i hope they will make it good) but i doubt we will have any ship texture improvements for this season.
hope i am wrong...

ps. not to mention we are still waiting for a visual damage model for all the ships (currently only aviable for the Conda)

Yeah, I was a bit too eager to post when I say the concept art. Seeing as it has no large hardpoints, it must be that it's some older concept before the ship was introduced in the game with the current loadout.

I was looking at my ship last night with the camera and it has wear and tear on the paint job! Or are you talking about some other effect?

May i ask on what ship it was?
I didn't test this for a long time so if i am wrong i stand corrected.
Also do you know if the flame/fire effect on the ships hull when being hit is still shown on all ships? (it was on pre 2.x)

oooo good thread, glad you found it, we just need to keep the devs aware and not let them get complacent.. the post by DB below that one was also cool, about being able to see places you have already visited distinguishable from those you have not.. i would love that too.

indeed (minor segue warning) however any wanna be devs could maybe answer this.

one reason given for the lack of persistance in ED is because of having to store the data on the servers. storing a list of every system i have visited along with possible past routes etc for every player would indeed be a lot of data.... however, why not store some of this stuff as a save on our harddisk, and then if we chose have the save back up some online storage on the cloud (i could even link it to my personal cloud storage)...... I do not get why everything needs to be stored on the FD servers
